2024/25 Beto

Dyche hasn’t got the brains to be proactive. There’s no way Calvert-Lewin should have been taken off after they scored. Beto should have been told to sit back down. We haven’t got a game for 2 weeks.
Agreed. Bringing on the wrong players in situations like that often kills you. The second that goal was scored Dyche should have shifted that sub as the momentum completely shifted.

He hasn't got the technical ability to hold the ball up. As much as we might me frustrated with the Calvert-lewin contract situation, he brings miles more to the team. With him and Doucoure on the pitch we lost all ability to keep hold of the ball up the pitch and just invited wave after wave of attacks. He's going to be 4th choice in a few weeks behind DCL, Broja and Chermiti. All of whom have better control of a football. Sell him to Saudi so Dyche doesn't have the option to bring him off the bench again.

That's what wound me up. What's the point in being so tall if you're not going to stretch and throw yourself at that.
Don't think it's the case not wanting too, just can't think quick enough at this level. Hoped after a full season and pre season, he would improve, any improvement will be minimal now. Unless it announced he has been carrying an injury all this time which seems very unlikely.

Bambi scored & played well - not Betos fault - Dous honour best player was & attroucious full backs only fir pickford they could have scored5 in the last 8 minutes- Dy he's fault not DCL -ok

Joe…but for Pickford they wouldn’t have scored any goals in that last 8 minutes IMO.

That first cross should have been dealt with easily by him and without that goal the rest don’t occur.

I do wonder if hypothetically someone from Turkey or Saudi or wherever is still open offered us close to our money back for Beto, what do we do? He’s clearly not fancied at all but would we risk trying to limp to mid-October with DCL only and a plan b that’s probably Ndiaye?
Broja has a history of injuries (I think) and DLC has his. Chermitti is injured and probably not ready to lead the line. Ndiaye doesn't look to me like someone who could lead the line. It would be foolish to sell in the absence of a wonder/Saudi offer.

The only reason I have refused to swear at Mikey O: s post is because Joey66 has ageed with the fool.
Swear all you like (although the moderators would likely pick you up on it).

We're all allowed our opinion and mine is that Beto is poor. He runs around a bit, has the ball bounce off him, scowls a lot and not much more.

Without wishing to put your back up, I'd be interested to know what you can point to in his performances so far that makes you think he's good enough for Everton.

At the end of the day, watching football (and contributing to forums) is about opinions.

Considering DCL is utter garbage, that really puts Beto in a good light.
I wish that Beto was a smashing player that just hasn't been given enough chances - I just don't see it.

I hope I'm wrong and he gets some more chances and nets a bagful of goals - I don't care who scores as long as we start to win a few games.
