2024/25 Beto

He kept losing it instantly and putting us under pressure from a defensive point of view. Really want him to be better than DCL but he is miles off
But we do not stand a chance without the penalty. Which he won singlehandedly. Brighton were playing deep until they were a goal down. The game obviously changed at the half when brighton were chasing the game. My biggest complaint is when he didn't take it to the sideline. But that is what is all the more endearing about the goober. He is desperate to get on the sheet

Moyes definitely needs to take the big fella to the side and talk to him about game management. There really isn't an excuse to take it central there. Hopefully he learns that with Dom possibly out for weeks

He is what he is working hard very little skill though...

I got the impression that he wasn’t treated well by Dyche, so I doubt he did much to work on improving his game or help build his confidence.

We have to support him, he’s the only striker we have now and whilst he’s not the best, he’s shown he can score a goal. I really hope that Moyes can get working with him and improve his game.

Unforgiveable not to play one of two players in. Instead he opts to blast it wide with a weak foot.
On one hand, I agree with you. Beto imo isn't reliable enough to take that chance on. But most of the great strikers do exactly what he did and use the runs to get a shot off. Strikers are selfish. But you want top strikers to be selfish in that situation. Not Beto. Being desperate to score is a good trait but pick and choose your battles.

DCLs strength is back to goal Beto's is facing the goal and making runs, be interesting to see him get a good run in the team under a new manager.

He has goals in him i believe, not many but i think he can get us a few wins this season that's if we don't buy a forward this week.

…he’s awful but he did well for the penalty. There was a rare occasion in the 2nd half where he ran into the box and we had players over on the far post but he hit the ball 10 yards wide. My son said, ‘how did he even do that’, I didn’t answer but I knew what he meant.

It’s not good that we might have to make do with him but it might not be the end of the world.
