Biggest Judas who left Everton

Arteta was a wee snake

Didn't he insist on taking a penalty against us and then knee slid in front of the Gwladys?
Arteta wasn't booed when he 1st left. In fact I remember him clapping Park End when we drew 1-1 in 2012. He kissed Arsenal badge in FA cup tie, in Martinezs 1st season. But to be honest his injury at Newcastle destroyed his pace.

The one who had to be carried out in a box. He destroyed Everton root and branch. Working with the local press he did the work of Liverpool FC for them. The last picture of the bloated frog was looking fondly across Anfield. We let him off lightly in the end as a fan base.
He was a world class con man and manipulated thousands of people - the good news is that he’s dead and we can all move on

Lescott peed me off the most. Dragging it out all summer, then downing tools first game of the season when we got a hiding off Arsenal. It wasn't that he couldn't go, and he went on to win trophies, but the manner of it.
I remember some fans booed him, some fans chanted his name. A bizarre day, I do believe he brought instability to our team that day, cos that Arsenal side weren't that good yet thrashed us.

Moyes and Rooney were right to leave.
I agree with Moyes as he had given Everton over 10 years of management on a shoo string and at the time the club was seemingly in need of a change.

Unlike Grealish and Rice who gave Aston Villa and West Ham 5+ years of their career, Wazza gave Everton 5 minutes before jumping ship. I'm surprised he isn't despised by the fan base. He even kissed the Man Utd crest at his beloved Goodison Park for good measure. What a classy and respectful individual.

"We know where you live,
We know where you live,
Judas Barmby, Judas Barmby,
We know where you live"

Boomed out regularly at Goodison when we weren't even playing the team he'd gone to. The level of hatred towards him was off the scale, something I've never experienced since. Houllier wouldn't play him at Goodison to protect him from it.

A friend of mine despised Barmby for what he did, even had, We 8 Barmby on the back of his shirt, think there was a photo in the Daily Mirror of him wearing it.
Anyway, cue a few weeks later, my mate pulls into a service station and as he's walking in, who's walking out? Only Barmby!! It took him a few seconds to realise this, so he shouts : Ey you, ye little s*** and proceeds to chase Barmby across the car park ! But as he's a professional athlete while my friend certainly wasn't, the chase didn't last long and soon petered out as my mate puffed and wheezed as befitting a 40 a day man !.So he just shouted in his direction" I'll get you next time you Kopite b****** !!. As there where no witnesses to this story I have to take it as being true and knowing my mate as i did, I can definitely believe it.

Rooney hurt the most for me, but that had a geographical link. Was getting told by those in School that John O'Shea was better than him whilst Rooney was with us, and that nonsense obviously all changed the moment he signed for Man United

Him getting that hat-trick vs Fenerbache increased my bitterness too.

He should have given us a couple of more years, and I could never have left Everton for a club like that if I was him, even to win the top trophies. There was other places he could have gone.

We had to sell him or Bill was going to be in big trouble.
Trevor Birch, the ex CEO of Everton, was so appalled at the state of the club’s finances and his relationship with Kenwright deteriorated rapidly so Mr Birch resigned after about 3 months(or even less).
It would have been good to keep Rooney for another 1-2 seasons but it was financially impossible to retain him.
That’s when the PR machine kicked in to make him look like the villain when it was really the club forcing him out.

Barmby is way ahead in the Judas stakes compared to Rooney.

Rooney was a local Evertonian. Barmby was a Kopite from Yorkshire growing up.

EVERTON midfielder Nick Barmby has shown a desire to join Liverpool after turning down a new five-year contract with his current club Everton. The want-away player has rejected a deal worth a reported £27,000-per-week in the hope of a move to The Reds - the team he supported as a boy.

I agree Barmbys move was worse in that he joined our biggest rivals but I still can't forgive Rooney more than anyone with how he left and treated us in the next few years after leaving.

Barmby was always the worst.

Not sure how accurate my memory was as an 8-year old, but it felt like we were finally getting a half decent side together.

Barmby just tore that apart, then the biff of course scored at Anfield and celebrated like he'd just won the World Cup, we lost 3-1.

Rooney hurt for a variety of reasons. We had the best young players in the world, and let him go for £20m because the owner was tight, and we were hugely tipped to go down (we spent £2.5m that summmer), Hat Trick against Fenerbahce and then obviously he acted a bit foolish as a kid celebrating... but he had been berated constantly.

Times a healer, and whilst we've never had a player close to his ilk ever since... you can't be mad, the lad achieved everything he could, won every club trophy. The anger should be at the people who let the best young talent leave for a pittance, where we didnt even get close to that money, getting United cast offs as part of a handshake ro remove some of the £7m in clauses.

Barkley was just advised poorly. Nothing between the ears. The agent must have made a killing off that faux "injury" in the August.
