Completely agree with this, I think if we ever go two goals up in a game again (as unlikely as that sounds right now) I just won't feel comfortable in Everton seeing it through. Martinez has made me completely paranoid, I've never seen a team throw away results on such a consistent basis as those two seasons.

That's not just Bobby - even know our defence doesn't look solid. You think we're three up with 20 minutes to go, opposition won't just target Scheiderlin and Williams? Easy to push them around.

I didn't expect much in Martinez's second season, the season after the champions league was another epic fail of the board to strengthen the team, if we did I think we could have been consistently challenging for top 4/5.

This season has to be the worst though, the signings have been poor so far, the manager has been poor so far, and the feeling around the club has gone downhill fast.

Being in the Champions League and not capatilising on it was a big missed opportunity. Other clubs in that position would have thrown some money at it and we could be in Man City or Tottenhams position now.

The Martinez one is huge as well though, I still don't fully understand what happened there and how it went so wrong, so fast

I remember being ridiculously excited for the prospect of Moyes spending the 20 million we got for Champions League qualification and being completely underwhelmed at how it was spent. It always made me worried for when he was handed a bit of cash and that was further reinforced with Bilyaletdinov.

I don't think I was quite as optimistic for that season as I was after we signed Lukaku on a permanent deal. I thought we were going to do something and what a massive let down that was.

Reminiscent of Gylfi.

Play him in his proper position with a proper system.

I honestly thought Bilyaletdinov was sound and he scored loads of boss pingers.

Yes he did score six or seven belters that got you on your feet, but his overall demeanour had you holding your head in your hands, he never seemed to break into a sweat, looked very docile to me, doubt if Moyes watched him before signing him, think he was recommended to Moyes by the Chelsea manager of the time, cost a big fee at the time and we were lucky to get half of it back, he never got going for me but each to their own.

The semi versus the banjo pluckers. Sometimes your heart sinks so low with Everton.
Consistently not maintaining momentum when opportunities are there, the self inflicted glass ceiling.....
Yes it hurt I've seen three of them and one final 86 all devastating.

Guus Hiidink I think, recommended him. Didn't work out. But he won us points, at least in my head

Moyes' 2nd season
Martinez' 2nd season
Koeman's 2nd season

We should just have a different manager every year.

Good poser for us, and no stupid cheese alternative. I did think that we were going to do well this season, even when the fixtures came
out I wasn't worried, I knew we needed a right wing-back and John Gidman looked the part but United came in again I think, that's
60 odd years of no proper number 2. We needed a good centre-forward , Giroud was never the answer, he was and is even slower
and lazier than Lukaku but can head the ball. This Gylfi feller is an enigma, Spurs have long been admirers of class footballers and have
continually lost out because of it. Gylfi couldn't hold a place down on their bench (It stinks doesn't it?). Koeman, I'm afraid, isn't even
bothered about us, he walks around with an inane smirk all the time.

The biggest disappointment I've felt in recent times was 2009-10. After finishing 5th for the second time in a row and losing in the cup final against Chelsea (which Moyes negitiveity cost us) it was obvious that we'd hit a glass ceiling and the only way to bridge that gap was to try a less negative approach in games but all we got was more of the same and we finished 8th. It was the season I knew I wanted Moyes out but I also knew that anyone taking over him would probably be happy to achieve more of the same mediocrity and have us just carry on existing and making money for the powers that be. It's been rubbish ever since with only one or two bright spells at times, both Martinez and Koeman have been significantly worse then Moyes ever was only and I don't see it getting better anytime soon.

So why was 09-10 a bigger disappointment to me then now? Because I was still optimistic then and thought it would all come good eventually so the pain was much worse. That all gone now, sure i still feel the pain but its a dull almost numb pain at this stage. I just wait week after week and season after season for the latest cock up from the club/players/manager/owners who obviously don't give a dam about my Grandads, my dad's and my beloved club or what happens to it beyond making them money.:(

My biggest disappointment is that i did not invest in the matress industry earlier this year.If i had any notion of the profits to be made 7 games into a premier league season
