VAR for me.
Used as it should be by the referees. Unlike the way we use in the PL.
Where VAR is effectively used in place of the referee.
No 3-4 minute waits to check an offside by 0.5mm (depending on the team involved).
No refs totally abdicating their responsibilities and leaving it / blaming it on VAR.
To me it proved that VAR can work and be effective. It all depends on who and how
its being used.

I saw Simeone, I saw the Maradona hand ball and I watch Peru go at Scotland like a combine harvester. The difference is that in the past commentators and fans were equally appalled. Then the pundits came and started telling us to accept cheating and like sheep the fans followed. Now I find myself being one if the few who find the cheating abhorrent.

Let's remember that when the beautiful game was created it was considered bad form even to defend.

The game and its followers have accepted it becoming sewer. In all honesty if this is to stay in modern football I'm out.

To me the final was relatively free of any controversial 'professional fouls' which are basically cheating.

Chiellini rightly got a yellow, it wasn't a straight red. England could have then opted to pile forward adding someone like DCL to test the quality of his defending thereafter, which may have then led to a red card but they chose not to.

Really? You think the racist jingoists use the likes of renowned anti-racists Raheem Sterling, Marcus Rashford and Tyrone Mings as a rallying point?
They dont consider them to be English. They can work around the fact they're there in the team.

This.
Plus other shouts for Decent Reffing too.
UEFA, or whoever 'Instructs' the Reffs on 'How to Reff it'. Properly
Unlike the PL, who tell them to look after the sky darlings...but he who pays the piper seems to be the rule

Good article this I thought

Agree with it all, except it had the same magic the Olympics did in 2012, the country was excited and it did bring together the country, however brief that was.

I keep highlighting the issue Social Media has on every day society, whether that be attractive people making millions off social media for “influencing” and begging for free stuff being worshipped.

Social media and footballers celebrities, is highlighted as something positive a way of being closer to regular, every day people.

But the internet is a dark, dark place and as long as you can hide behind an avatar, without any reprimanding, you’re always going to get people who will direct hatred.

Identification should be required, and you stop idiots.
Also, why the massive drive to push politics and football together this tournament I’ve no idea.

Patel literally has done more to divide a nation, yet kept getting lauded throughout. Football and Politics don’t go.
