Lets see how Wolves get on next season which will be much harder. It is becoming increasingly difficult to buy your way up the league due to FFP (and the City case will make that harder) so the idea Leeds are going to automatically make it a top 7 seems a bit of a long shot.

If they can get themselves promoted we'll see how adeptly they spend the money.

The difference between City and PSG to us and Wolves are the former 2 can get any old state company to sponser their clubs to the tune of millions to avert FFP - for us and Wolves its a bit more difficult and why neither of us will ever become part of the elite.

If the Qatari's buy into an english club they'll do another Man City 100% mate.

I wouldn't be shocked if he has a clause keeping him on as chairman even when his shares are sold.

I don't think so mate. For a start they are looking at buying a stake (not the entirety) seems an operation in diversification. Leeds is a prudent investment too.

The reality is, to do a Manchester City is next to impossible now. Even us, with the wealth of Usmanov behind us can't get close to doing it. Financially City spent around 1.5 bn on modern money in the first 3 seasons to go from around 10th to 3rd. It's taken them around 10 years after that to get to where they are now.

Leeds are starting from a substantially lower base. 2nd division team, 2nd division infrastructure, ground etc. There's no doubt Leeds would benefit from any such investment, but I doubt we will see another side do a City again (the wealthy existing clubs have stitched it up). The FFP stuff around City will act as a bigger warning now too. They will not be able to do that dodgy sort of sponsorships anymore.

That's not to say it's not a concern. The same challenge exists for us though, spend our money wisely within the confines of whats allowed due to FFP.

You can rest assured that when BK writes his life story, which he most certainly will, or when posthumously somebody else writes it,there will be a lot in it about Everton, and a lot about Educating Rita and Stepping Out and Blood Brothers,and lots of Evertonians will get uptight or take the micky, and lots of show biz types will love it !
