The stadium means nothing, ask Sunderland, Derby, Wigan, Boro and several others if astadium transformed the clubsMosh doesn’t claim to be one of us and actually put 500m in and is actually going to deliver a stadium
Well done. Just selectively pick out the clubs that weren't helped by a new stadium and ignore the ones that were. The stadium means nothing, ask Sunderland, Derby, Wigan, Boro and several others if astadium transformed the clubs
I think it's a fair point that a new stadium alone will not transform a club. It can even be a millstone if the expense is to the detriment of team building for years. Success is only achieved by sound decisions and investment in the team. Investment in the stadium is important too, but without a decent team, it could easily turn into a meaningless white elephant that could sink us further.Well done. Its true, ok it might make more money but as we have found out with what we have wasted that coin can solve nothing, weve had the money, and got worseI think it's a fair point that a new stadium alone will not transform a club. Yes and you can extend that to occasional short bursts of positive results on the pitch. Any time there has been a moment when a degree of pressure is applied or there is the potential to demonstrate progress, the players bottle it. Every time.I was pondering his "Good times" schtick last night and tried to think of what I class as Good Times since I started following the club in the early 90s... They're all, bar 2 or 3 seasons under Moyes, moments. A game here, a player there, a semi final, a final... all stuff we failed to build on. We've never looked like consolidating anything good that happened whilst this charlatan has been running the club.
Then you remember that he's got the paper from a last day survival bid, aided by a bent goalie up on the wall in his office and used to plan the club's finances on finishing 17th every year. He's never had anything by way of ambition beyond being top blue and being in charge.
When you think about it, deciding that you are the best person to run the club no matter what even if you can't deliver any form of success and refusing to look for outside investment because you'll have to give up some control is scandalous.
Manchester City, Leicester City, Brighton and Hove Albion, Brentford, AFC Wimbledon.Like who?
City got transformed by the shakes money, Leicester i will give you, Brentford have only been moved a year, but you see the point, these are mostly small clubs, Brighton for example, not ever present in the Premier League clubs, none of the bigger clubs benefit, how many times have Arsenal won the league post Highbury? Spurs are a mess too.Manchester City, Leicester City, Brighton and Hove Albion, Brentford, AFC Wimbledon.
It's mostly a commercial asset if you want to sell the club later on. It'll might double the value +it's an insurance policy in uncertain FFP times & for the future. You never know: football might implode & matchday revenue might become relevant again...City got transformed by the shakes money, Leicester i will give you, Brentford have only been moved a year, but you see the point, these are mostly small clubs, Brighton for example, not ever present in the Premier League clubs, none of the bigger clubs benefit, how many times have Arsenal won the league post Highbury? This new stadium isnt the dawn of a new era that some seem to think it will be, i can see fans who have been to Goodison 100s of time not even setting foot in it, especially when they see the prices
Yeah pay off that loan, his wild spending is gong to hurt us long term more then it will him, the only thing this stadium might do is get Moshiri out, until then we are stuck with himIt's mostly a commercial asset if you want to sell the club later on. And I agree with you: prices will skyrocket, especially if the club has to pay off some loan to Moshiri (the way Arsenal had to pay for it back in the day).
We've definitely had bad times recently but the claim was that we should be challenging for the title every year which was ridiculous.
We all want it and aspire to it but nobody has that entitlement. You'd make the case for man city at the moment with their financial position but why should everton be doing that right now?
What has kenwright done to fool us into thinking we're not as good as we are? What would you do in his shoes to have us challenging for the title every year?
Well according to our lovable bill … it’s the reason that man city got bought over us … so I assume a stadium is very importantThe stadium means nothing, ask Sunderland, Derby, Wigan, Boro and several others if astadium transformed the clubs
