Honestly, the whole argument about him can effectively be boiled down to this. You have to be a very, very, strange individual to see all the protests and this type of thing and not just say 'fair enough, think it's time for me to go'. Whatever else you think of him and how much blame should be attached to him, it's some serious narcissism to look at everything going on and decide that you're still the right man for the job.

The narcissism has only been heightened by people who align with him to create a hive mind mentality. It benefits them because they either earn a living out of it or given a heightened sense of importance by placating it.

When the circus closes, I hope it all comes out about who has benefited what and from whom. I doubt it will happen but they know who they are.

Just shows how integrity goes out of the window for a few free tickets and dinner.
