I want to say it's unbelievable but it really isn't. Same old Everton

If they don't think Thelwell has sufficient "contacts and acumen in the transfer window" to do his job, then they've picked the wrong person, again. If Bill is doing the recruitment, then yet another example of how the DOF model will never work at this club.
Serious question to someone who is obviously a long-time poster on this forum:The last two seasons have been certainly grim but Leicester aside I cant make an argument that any side outside the scab 6 have had it any better than us certainly since the early 00's.
Wee Davey gave me some wonderful memories with the teams he built on a budget. El Loco's first season was a privilege to watch and even under Koeman we qualified for europe with Lukaku banging in 25 gols. Its a shame the Carlo season was during lockdown as GP would have been bouncing with James, Richy and DCL all on song.
The problem is the clubs gone soft in recent years including some of the fans. 2 bad seasons and people are jacking it in forgetting football comes and goes in cycles and todays Brigton/Villa might be tomorrows Everton in a world class BMD where you'll not be able to get a ticket for love nor money. Only hurting themselves as Kenwright doesn't care if you are stuck watching us in a boozer in town.

Either that or, as you say, they shouldn't have picked anyone at all. Yet another example of the nonsense that goes on at this club.
Yeah but have you ever seen Sheikh Mansour do a guest appearance on Coronation Street?!!??!? Thats what you SHOULD BE asking yourself...I wonder why we’re about 20 years behind the rest of the footballing world with a 77 year old doing our transfer business.
The idea that our recruitment has been so good that we couldn't do without Bill's expertise in the marketIf they don't think Thelwell has sufficient "contacts and acumen in the transfer window" to do his job, then they've picked the wrong person, again.

Agreed ….it’s the type of attitude that has us in the more, thinking that the stadium is a panacea for all of our issues…the stadium no doubt will assist …but this is a world revenue game not an every other domestic Saturday game. We need the stadium PLUS a domestic and international commercial strategy. A recent study showed match day income ranges from 25-40% of total revenue So it’s great that we shall increase that part of the revenue, but we need to improve our non match day revenue considerablySerious question to someone who is obviously a long-time poster on this forum:
What magic effect do you think BMD will have on this club?
Just because we kick a ball in a ~50000 stadium instead of a ~40000 are the worlds top players lining up to join us? (How many players are falling over themselves to join Tottenham because of the stadium? - or managers for that matter). Do you think the worlds top companies will be fighting it out to be associated with us, or we'll start raking in more sponsorship money than Spurs or Arsenal or Liverpool of City etc just because of a shiny new building in a city no one cares about?
I think you are probably correct to say football goes in cycles (until it doesn't, of course) and zero doubt Blue Bill couldn't care less about "the rabble" who have 'threatened his safety' etc; I just find out odd people cling on to this idea that "JuSt GeT tO ThE StAdIuM" as if thats a magic bullet for 'Good Times', when it is a bandaid over the real problems.
the protests won’tWe have a good patch next season and the protests will be redundant. Sorry for trying to steer a path away from the majority wailing.
No one is though? But people are being realistic that the here and now is more of an importance than what happens in 18 months and have every right to feel fed up that something that should have been done in the summer of 2016 not only hasn’t but has been doubled down on todaySo you mean they have more loyalty than some of the paper fans on here bragging about walking away from the club at the first sign of trouble ?
