I really don’t know why they released a statement about that. I wish no ill health on bill and hope he has a speedy recovery.

But if the opp was a success and he wishes to keep his private life well private why tell us. He doesn’t even come to home games so we would be none the wiser.

Can you see how this can be spun to have some sort of sympathy for him after everything that has happened to the club in his hands. If he fit to do his job no need to tell us. Again wish nothing bad on him, but my opinion is it’s a sympathy plea, I may be just being an idiot but it’s how it looks for me anyway.

Get well soon Chairman Bill, so you can officially resign and retire with what little dignity you and any of us have left.

I don’t understand the need or the wording of the release at all, except to garner sympathy.

I mean, are we really expected to believe that an 80 year old, frail man in bad health, was working very hard right up to the point of his serious cancer surgery and subsequent stint in ICU.

If nothing else, I would suggest a serious review of the business HR policies and procedures. It’s just ridiculous.

Like I say, get well soon so you can resign and retire officially.

Bill told someone to release that statement, deliberately. Why?

Bill also told someone to tell the world that our fanbase physically attacked a woman. Why?

He's a vile, egomaniac and is even still playing most of you like a fiddle with your now holier than thou "I wish him a speedy recovery" lines.

1. Don't waste your breath - the timing is far too impeccable and you're giving sympathy to a notorious liar.
2. He's been actively torpedo'ing our club in every way possible for years and now we're supposed to "wish him the best" and if you don't, you're not a moral, upstanding citizen and will be called out by the tribe?

I thought I'd bless you with a little honesty this morning for all of you virtue signallers out there.

I'm an Evertonian that doesn't care if the man lives or dies. He means NOTHING to me. Indifference. All that I can tell you is that I'm extremely eager for him to leave this club and if he won't let go of his train set before our great club is no longer, I'm more than happy for Satan to intervene and welcome him to his new home in the very near future - because let's face it, the man's clearly done no self-work in this life and won't be going anywhere else.

I don't care if he's decided to lose weight and run a marathon, I don't care if he's decided to leave all of his money to charity, I don't care about hearing about his recent health updates.

I don't care.

Just leave.
Good on you. Honesty from the heart.

I feel duty bound to remind people that this man threw the entire fanbase under the bus with completely made up allegations of violence in January. He has gone out of his way to stain the name of thousands of honest, hard working people who have lined his pockets for the past 30 years. Like hell I’m gonna come on here and pretend I wish him well just for internet points.

Karma takes a little longer to come around sometimes.

Whatever happened to basic humanity?

If you have nothing nice to say, it would be better to say nothing.

Personally I have no truck with Bill Kenwright, but I wish him a speedy recovery and a happy retirement away from EFC.
This is an Everton Football Club forum
Fans have been waiting for an update on his supposed stepping down after his alleged expertise in navigating the difficult transition etc

We didn't get that, we got an unwanted health update that had slipped into the middle of it how hard he works
His health is none of our business and we shouldn't have to deal with deliberate and tactical updates concerning it when he knows well we are waiting on something entirely different

I'm sick of him, and I still feel it is worth saying whether you think it is 'nice' or not
I don't owe him anything

I do know why that statement was released, the club knows that Bill Kenwright has lost the respect of Evertonians for his role in the dramatic decline of the club. I am sure, like myself, right thinking Evertonians do not wish ill health or misfortune on him as a man but we do wish to see his tenure at the club to come to an end. I do not see any sense in him continuing in his role either from a personal or business standpoint, He should resign immediately on health grounds and concentrate on getting better and his family. I am definitely not one for conspiracy theories but I find it almost bizarre that the club needs to keep him in post despite the fact that he clearly isn’t capable of fulfilling the functions of his position and it would appear he will not be again.

Seriously this is turning into a Pope John Paul the 2nd type of scenario here. If you're that unwell then leave.

I wish Mr Kenwright all the best in his recovery though, but this is just yet another example of what a basket case of a club we are.

Bill should either resign or be forced to resign at this stage imo.

Just read the statement and i agree it’s extremely odd.
It reflects everything we are seeing that’s wrong about the club….
Clueless and detached from reality!!

Hope he recovers and gets well soon. Life is precious no matter who you are.

Has to be said though, he will have been very ill for a lot longer than when he was diagnosed back in August i.e when he was kept on as interim, he was not in a fit state physically or mentally to be able to do the job and that is regardless of his very poor past record of stewardship of the club.

Another absolutely shocking decision by Moshiri in every aspect.

That type of illness is obviously very serious and it goes with saying that as a person, I hope he gets well enough to spend more months with his family.

That said, the statement is a calculated move. His health has been mooted to be poor for a while and it's usually from the likes of TalkSPORT as opposed to whispers in Everton social media.

I suspect he's buttering us up to return to the stadium.

The club clearly have a duty of care but I'm not sure legally they could stop him from working..
