Sad news.

Bill was often on the ESCLA train travelling up to Goodison from Euston in the old days.

Paid the cab fare from Lime Street on a couple occasions he came with a few of us in a taxi.

Once gave me a few comps for Blood Brothers.

Yes, he stayed too long as Chairman but I will always remember him fondly.

RIP, Bill.

that video has made me well up
Honestly, stuff like that he was truly exceptional.

It's unfortunate he was utterly abject in the business of running a modern football club.

Undoubtedly a devisive figure, particularly in recent years. Hopefully with time those cracks start to heal over.

Condolences to his loved ones, may he rest in peace.

A genuine True Blue. Tried his best to keep up with the megabucks pouring into the game, but was a man out of time over the last decade. Romantic, sentimental, stubborn but above all a proper fan who loved the club, when many around him were indulging in elite league manoeuvring, leveraged buyouts and sportswashing.

We've been left behind in the modern game, but at least we've retained some of our soul for what it's worth. We'll all have our views on whether that's enough, but rest in peace to a major part of the Everton family.
