Hiya,

I have a feeling Blackberry's OS is slowly giving up being usable on the WWW: websites showing more blank pages, and typing messages in GOT is slow torture, it's like one-letter-per-second, if you type any faster you end up wihgbbldygk.

Installed a third-party browser and it's not much better. Whatsapp recently confirmed they will no longer support (as in test) their services for Blackberry operating systems. Blackberry in turn have confirmed their new models will largely offer Android as an OS, and these phones don't seem to have a keyboard version.

Anyone else use BB OS and find it a grand old pain to type? Looks like I'll have to make the move to an actual touchscreen keyboard (shudders).

Businessmen use Blackberries?

I like them, currently have a Q10 which is still well-regarded. Current models like the Z30 are considered among the very best you can get, just that Blackberry has nowhere near the market share of a Samsung or Apple. I went BB because the high-end hardware (talking about CPU & RAM not camera) initially facilitated speedy responsive browsing, also the snappy OS and its logical layout, haptic keyboard, scratch-free screen and sturdy body easily withstanding multiple drops are right up my tree. The OS itself is still fine but its compatibility with browser-based surfing is no longer being supported by most web design, so it's becoming a dead-end.

Just wondering if any other BB OS users have similar issues.

By who ? Crackheads ?

aye, The Graun is another one where typing is sometimes a chore...just reacting much too slow now.

Don't like Apple much, so will go probably Z30 with Android.

I was trying to resist Apple for a long time, since the tedious/copious updates as well as the fact that you have to buy special chargers really miffed me. But I caved like a good consumer and bought into the hype.

ha, the fan forum's called crackberry.com so probably something in that.

the best review site for phones (and laptops) deemed the Z30 "an amazing piece of hardware with shortcomings in the software"

this was when it shipped with BB OS10. i'll prob get the one now shipping with android.

It is not one of the best phones you can get, that's simply not true. The vast majorities of reviews for the Z30 on the internet give it between 3 and 4 stars.

I'm not sure how you've come to the conclusion that Notebook Check is the best website for phone reviews, either. I have never heard anybody else reference them.

well you're hardly the harbinger of all knowledge are you, brennan?

pick a phone or laptop you know really well then read their review of it: they go deep, technical and most importantly useful.

aye, deffo not for me...picking up an imac today because of the excellent screen and useful hardware concept, but installing Windows 10 will be the very first thing i do with it.

Would anyone notice? :)
