Not able to watch the match but just reading the posts on this thread seems to sum up what I've seen and heard about Coleman. Struggles defensively. Great going foreward

Totally agree mate. At the moment I wouldn't mind seeing him given a runout as right midfield with Neville or Hibbo behind him. Gosling seems to have evolved into that role although originally touted as a full back
Could go either way really. The likes of Ashley Cole was awful defensively but learned how to be a better defender. Then there's the likes of Marcelo at Real Madrid. started out at left back and was reduced to tears by the boos from the fans. Since then he's been playing as wide midfield or even inside left with Arbeloa behind him and is a key member of the team.

Gosling evolved into a more central role, IMO, just Moyes uses him on the wings because... um, he's Moyes?
