The British seaside resort once the mecca of the working class before the days of the cheap flight abroad
these places now neglected are a magnet for the n-o-n-c-e and other degenerates roaming gangs of eastern europeans in their brightly coloured shellsuits who fall into the same category as aforementioned
It is also the graveyard of the z list celebrity hasbeen who tour the piers of these terminal towns
avoid these places they are not family friendly anymore
You are both right and wrong mate.
We go to kids shows on the Blackpool North Pier, a few times a year, with my youngest lad, who is disabled - he loves live shows.
The theatre at the North Pier is a beautiful theatre, as is the Grand Theatre too.
Blackpool has to be one of the most disabled friendly places in the UK and a lot of thought and money has gone into making it like this.
You can spend as much or as little as you want on your digs and the same goes on eating out too.
The flip side, is that there`s so much for kids to do there, that you`re wallet is soon emptied !
There`s also a slow regeneration starting to go in little pockets of Blackpool, around by the Grand Theatre and the gay area, around by Funny Girls.
Which is where you go, if you want to avoid the stags and hens and fellas whov`ve been drinking since 8am
As you say, the likes of Blackpool does have a very dark underside, runaways who fall prey to paedophiles, chronic drug / drink / poverty / mental health and unemployment.
The problems of British seaside towns, aren`t the fault of the people who live there, it`s years and years of under investment and neglect by successive governments.
Take Southport, once one of the premier shopping destinations in the North of England and now an absolute dump and well on the way to having the same problems as the likes of Blackpool.
