We paid about 200 quid for those fabrics 1s, fitted, only for the front of the house, they have lasted ages.

….we just got shutters. They’re very nice but we’ve had verticle blinds for many years that were fine and ridiculously cheap.

No idea how you make a Venetian blind.

No not "The Blind" I've got nothing against them or their dog's I mean actual blinds.

Heavy handed Miss Walker has destroyed the upstairs bedroom blinds to the point I caught her using sellotape to mend one at the top. I've decided it's time for a change and I want them wooden ones that are horizontal. Nothing against vertical blinds I just like the other type. Anyway I've had a quote for 7 windows of varying size (made to measure is the tag line they use) and he said 1700 quid. Was I fair in telling him I'd rather stick grey nets up and get abused by my neighbours or is that a fair cost?

My missus is a prude so voyeurism isn't a realistic option. Any help would be appreciated and if you happen to work for a binds company come at me but be prepared that I've had a few bevvies and if you want some, I'll give it ya.

I'm quite handy with my hands in a DIY sense (I like to think, I put a door on upside down once much to my dads amusement who watched me do it but kept quiet just so he could laugh and scorn me) is it possible to make a project of? Should I just cough up?

Saturday evenings aren't the same anymore are they, I'm boring myself just typing this. (I think this is my first topic on here and all, don't judge me on this)

measure yourself, buy off the net, fit yourself, it really isn't hard. Just have a look where you're going to fix them too and get the correct fixings

I've thought about it mate. I just know that the closest people to me who I love, cherish and fend for etc will be willing me to fail just so they can laugh. I just don't have the minerals these days.

Oh and the last time I bought something wooden off the net it was phallic and well the rests none of your business quite frankly pal.

Ours are weird hard fabric ones but if my missus lived with you for a week she'd manage to break them.

In 2017 I paid £1930 for venetian blinds for a 4 bed house. Think 7 windows. One was a tad awkward/bay window but yeah, decent blinds are expensive.

You'd save a fortune if you could measure/fit them yourself.
