If I'm browsing at work, which is probably about 80% of my time, my work controls adblockers etc otherwise I have no issue with ads, even clicked on a few....Ads are a pain in the arse.
Some websites take the proverbial...
I have Adblock. uBlock Origin is the name of it. It does a great job. Highly recommended.
I exclude websites I frequently visit - particularly fan sites from Adblock. You can change the settings to allow ads to run on individual websites - so you're making an exception for them. It takes a few seconds and job done - never have to mess with it again.

I've had to add another ad, at the top right of the forum on the website to try and mitigate this;
