Boss photos you've taken

not sure what you mean, Eggs, but I grant it's not the most natural of poses. i do event-reportage (non-posed shooting from the sidelines) but now & then the couple want a specific pic.

..it’s a lovely picture, but it seems to be the right hands when wedding rings are normally on the left. It’s probably my mind playing tricks.

Thanks mate :) The couple can choose, here in Germany it's often on the right hand but also sometimes on the left depending on either their cultural background, personal choice and/or if they'd rather not use their dominant hand as the ring-hand.

I guess in England then it's mostly on the left hand?

..it is. As the old Motown song says;”.......third finger left hand is where he placed the wedding band”.

I'm unsure how boss any of these are, since it was my first time ever using a semi-worthy camera. I snapped these on cruise in Alaska.

Beautiful town of Ketchikan, Alaska

Unintentionally good picture, in my opinion.

I like the vibrant colors here

The contrast between the foreground mountain and background mountain make this picture, for me.

Good stuff. Spent many a summers in Alaska during college. Indescribable hugeness and beauty!

Is that the great orme in the distance??

Is that the great orme down the coast in the distances??

The lens cost me about £260GBP - the Canon 70D was close to £500GBP when I bought it - I was the first in the UK to have one I believe, but I can't confirm 100% - but when I looked into it, I remember being the first person to post an image on the web with 70D.
@Bilbo, I know you are a Canon man but are you aware of a modestly priced macro lens for a FF Nikon? I only shoot for fun so price is as much of a factor as outright image quality.

Loads of great affordable macros for Nikon mount:

Tamron 90mm f2.8 non-VC
Sigma 50mm f2.8 or 105mm f2.8 non-OS
Nikon 105mm f2.8 older one with manual aperture ring
Nikon 60mm f2.8 ditto

or manual focus:

Nikkor 55mm f2.8
Nikkor 105mm f4

or even cheaper, use extension tubes on an old 50mm f1.8, or put a Raynox DCR-250 in front of your sharpest lens, or bag a cheap & sharp Olympus OM Zuiko 28mm f3.5 then reverse it with a 49mm-Nikon Adapter for 2:1 macro!

Most of these are from the more cheaper macro options out there:
