Is that the same Myna Bird that’s a brilliant mimic ?

The ones I know that can talk are all black. Not sure if they can all talk though

Not sure what the first bird is. The others are Laughing Doves, taken in Bahrain

I know I can probably do a bit better than these - if I can find a larger worm. Trouble is getting to them. These two were on the low bricks and pebbledash, but still meant forcing my knees down to their level and that was a painful exercise...

Ladybirds are THE biggest challenge for me with flash. Today's attempt sees my diffusion covers with an additional sheet of Vellum paper between the lens and flash heads... Had the YN24EX in ETTL +2/3EV, camera 1/200sec, f/11, ISO 160, Venus 2:1 macro lens on a Canon EOS 70D.

Found an ant-mimic in the garden waste bin...

Problem was it was way down the inside so took some getting to as I had to half lean in!

That's one hell of a mimic @Bilbo. You must have a very well trained eye. There's no way I would look at that and think anything other than ant.
edit - Just re-read my post and realise it could sound like I'm doubting you, which I'm not. Just genuinely in awe at your knowledge of the little critters you find.

I thought it was just an ant at first myself. After a while the ovipositor at the rear and the antenna led to it being the mimic (no wings at this stage).

Strange world that nature has...
