Match Thread Bournemouth vs Everton

My personal view is this. Everton fans are some of the most loyal and realistic fans in the league. We don't expect to be challenging for the top 4 or win a trophy each season, or win against all the top sides. All we ask is that our players don't mess about and cause humiliating incidents like today. It was be nice to think we could actually got to Arsenal and play well and get a result, not our typical lying down and accepting defeat, that our fans have to suffer each season. Our fans fill away ends every game, it would be nice if our players showed to same effort as our loyal fans. We haven't won at the RS in nearly 20 years, while teams like Villa, West Brom Swansea, Southampton, West Ham and even Palace have won there. I can take us losing I can take us being outplayed, but I can' take this endless self sabotaging we do every season. Allowing players to stay at Everton no matter how rubbish they are Howard, Baines, Jags, Hibbert, Gibson, Kone, and Mirallas to stay at Everton continually losing us games is just ridiculous. Hopefully players like Zouma, Digne, and the other new lads can move Everton forwards and we can get rid of the bottle jobs and losers who always manage to eff up in the big games for us.

We've done this for years thrown away leads away from home. At least we look dangerous away now. Our defending and game management needs work.

Two words Zonal Marking, I could put a third word between those two words but it would be censored. Zonal is not the way to go.
I dont disagree, though I think it can be much more effective maybe when players are used to it. Looking through our goals allowed they seem easily fixable. Baines just stupidly pushed a man in the back for the first goal. For the second, Baines was near post but didnt cover his zone and let a guy get past him. Last week, it was purely the fault of multiple players not staying in their zone for an easy clearance. The week before, it was a free kick that Pickford misplayed, and then just a great cross and header. If we dont give up easy penalties and free kick goals, and just stay in our zones when marking so far we would have allowed just the 1 goal.

A little bit disappointed in Bournemouth today,

i thought they would of been better than they were, mostly long punts to the front two almost Wimbledon like.

I actually worked at Bournemouth when they were at risk of going into the Conference. Crazy. Was down there for the mid season friendly when it looked like Bjarni Thor would be amazing.

Seemingly can never begrudge losing points there.

So I watched the game at 3pm.
Just watched the extended Sky highlights.
We were not good today.
We did take 2 chances and went 2-0 up when we could have been at least 1 down.

A top team has to win from being 2 clear, even sides and 30 mins to go....

At that point, Bournemouth went very direct and controlled much of the remainder of the game.
Once they started playing long ball, we had to bring Zouma on.
Sacrifice Theo or Cenk at that point and manage the game with a 2 goal cushion.
Obviously we took a long time to change anything.
We also lacked enough players with composure centre mid when on the ball, Gylfi excepted.

Take you lads back in time to the thread when the fixtures were published.
This is the 'easy' start. We have not made any game look easy!
We need the new signings up and running now.
5 points is great, not complaining.
3 home games coming up and we need Mina, Zouma, Digne, Gomez and Bernard firing if we are to win them all.

I heard Merson say that their sending off was harsh because Theo had a lot to do. Thought nothing of it because I wasn't watching the game on a stream.
I saw how he finished for his goal and thought 'that was a good finish'.
Then I saw the sending off and thought 'but he finished from a very similar position'. I thought that Merson is an idiot.
Then I listened to Shearer and Jenas say the same as Merson. I thought 'maybe I'm the idiot'.

BTW, I know that Richarlison had to go but the world's gone mad. Shearer was adamant that Richarlison was stupid. I wonder what he thinks about himself and his assault on Neil Lennon all those years ago.

The whole world of football is full of hypocrites mate.
