Boxing

Joshua held an era, I'd agree.

The other two a lot of hype.
Klitschko was the era, held since Lewis.
Joshua is the olympic gold holder that followed that time.
Usyk is an anomaly.
the yanks don't make fighters like they did, basketball, nfl, athletics, there's easier more lucrative lines to follow. Shavers or Foreman would smash the bonce out of the current age. Hunger.

What are peoples genuine thoughts on the whole event last night?

I enjoyed most of the fights but found the evening dragged on somewhat and the atmosphere seemed pretty flat for boxing, especially when you consider that at the same time the darts is on and it's absolutely bouncing in there.

I get that the Saudi's want a piece of everything these days but for me boxing is a UK/Vegas thing.

Gaps between the fights were far too long. They'd planned for the fights to go 12 rounds and when it's mainly heavyweights it's not going to last that long. It's nice to see deeper cards, the Kabayel and Dubois fights were the most interesting fights on the card. Hopefully they'll put some good even fights on the Fury Usyk undercard.

The atmosphere over there is terrible. Probably partly because they're new to boxing and partly that they're sober.

The wrestling crowds there are the same, absolutely sterile and uninterested.

Screw the sportswashing circus and anyone who decides to suck on the blood-money soaked Saudi d*ck, frankly.

Lewis was the last great of the heavyweights. Been nothing since and gotta wonder if there ever will be.
It's probably why if any of the UFC fellas want to crossover heavyweight is their best chance, the standard is lower and the pool is shallower, Usyk aside none of them are particularly great.

It has been a fun era for the most part though, even domestically, but I don't think we are seeing any ATG's imo.

The quality of the shows in the UK will reduce as well as the big fights will be over there in future.

Can't really blame the boxers though, when you're getting punched in the face for a living you want to maximise your earnings.

Its the same as blaming the fighters for being bellends in the build up, its up to the sport to stop cashing in on that behaviour if they really want to stop it. Of course they don't actually want to stop it, they want as much of the youtube virgin fanbase as possible.

Inoue about to fight Tapales on Sky to try to become the second two weight undisputed champion of the modern era (after Crawford recently).

He’s just world class isn’t he? He’s not even world class, he’s elite and he’s making easy work of world class fighters and making them look average. He’s literally got everything, only downfall will be if they try and make that fight vs Tank Davis. Tanks size and power will be to much.

I don't think he'll fight Tank. He's still 3 weights below and that's too much, Inoue didn't look big enough earlier today. He can win world titles at Featherweight and maybe super feather. That Lopez who beat Warrington and Conlan would be a good test but you'd back Inoue all day. He's already 30 so I think going up in the weights will be limited now, if he can win titles in 1 or 2 more weights that's special.

There was rumours that he was gonna go up and fight Tank. The was a lot of talk about it. I agree, he doesn’t look like a big at super bantam, so god knows the size difference at feather and super. He’ll probably fight Luis Nery at feather but doubt he’ll go any higher.
