Boxing

I know it was pure WWE theatrics, but Eubank Snr rocking up was boss. Thought the fight was decent as well, a load of windmilling but that’s what we wanted and it’s what we got. Thought it could have been a draw, but Eubank probably won it on those last few rounds.

No need for a rematch, but there will be one as it’s a money spinner.
Would rather see Benn move on at his own weight and Eubank retire, however, the rematch makes them.both more money than any other fight

Eubank jnr is praying on a sq garden lifetime shot at Canelo, that's probably the leviathan pay day if it can be made. Eubank wont win it. No way no how.
Would let him say he's been in with the best though.
As for Benn, agreed, back down to his weight category and clean up the division if he can, he's 27, and has years on his side to collect a few belts, showed he can throw a bit of leather, and the money is there when he gets a belt or two.
Getting out of boxing in one piece is more important than the cash you pick up along the way.

I think anyone his own size at world level probably stops him these days, he's taken a fair chunk of punishment and must have enough dough to move on.

Yeah, I reckon he's on for a last hurrah, can they get enough tickets sold and push the event. Maybe some super stacked card might carry it.

Conor Benn showed me something last night, he can swallow a shot and keep bombing, he won't have been hit like that before, so although he noticeably slowed down by the fourth he was making the bout for those early rounds and Eubank couldn't keep him off. I'm not sure how much fitter he could get but trimming the excess off might help. I don't know enough about the welter division to know any good match ups.

ok so, welter

Jaron Ennis
Mario Barrios
Brian Norman jr

super welter

Terence Crawford
Sebastian Fundora
Bakhram Murtazaliev

Only really know of TC in those.

I don't think fitness is an issue for Benn, he couldn't make room for his own work due to the size of Eubank, he doesn't face those problems in fights at his own weight

His best shot is against Barrios or Norman Jr. out of those at welter. He wouldn’t touch a glove on Boots Ennis. Supposed he could go up to fight Fundora, that would give him a chance but no way he beats BM or Crawford.

It will be interesting to see what happens with Benn cos fighters coming back down in weight, even in one fight does a lot of damage. That fight last night will have taken its toll on him due to the brutality of it, plus he’s been inactive. He’ll be kicking himself over the next few weeks, cos if he paced himself at times, he could have won that with ease. It was a great fight but dunno if I wanna see the rematch. The size difference is to big and it shown.

It did indeed, 4/7 eubank jnr was a give away.

Barrios v Benn would be a great fight, would encourage Benn to box and not brawl, too I reckon. I doubt he will ever fight like did last night ever again.

Totally, be really exciting and enjoyable. I dunno if he’s got it in him to box, he loves a good fight. Similar to Eubank Jr, they aren’t great boxers with a good amateur pedigree but both are great fighters. The two of them would love a tear up in the street with anyone if they could. Benn is enjoyable to watch cos of his style.

A lot got made about the weight and hydration clause but it honestly favoured Eubank Jr. He’s done the exact same in a lot of his fights with his weight, it’s just harder for him now cos of his age. His height and reach won him the fight with the jab and finishing some rounds better. Benn couldn’t find his range at times due to the height and jab.

When Benn was zipping about like an angry hornet, he was getting through often, but being on his bike that long and mixing up getting tagged meant he tired quicker than usual. It was a great effort, but Eubank was probably the best part of a stone heavier. Falling in at 12st 1lb or whatever it was, it's over a 12th of his (Benn's) fight weight. Pushing that extra uphill is no mean feat. Seems the game plan was to dive in, throw a ton of power shots, jump out and repeat. Had to get through with work early to make it pay, but didn't quite do enough. Took his share of knocks for the privilege. The failed dope test and so much time out hasn't helped his cause, needs to get busy and become relevant at 147lbs. Use this as a springboard.

Eubanks face is mangled and will heal quickly, Benn will be wince for a while if he as much as sneezes or coughs after some of them digs he ate last night. His thrown v landed ratio was very high.
