I wasn’t a spoilt lad either, but I knew how to work the birthday and Crimbo pressie angle to my advantage . Also did lots of chores for allowances and eventually worked a part time weekend job.

Fruit of the loom are generally pretty good quality imho, I’m sure I read somewhere they are still used by a number of expensive brands for manufacturing their tee shirts etc.
Not that I’d necessarily wear a branded FoTL tee shirt now like

They`re used by the likes of schools for their PE gear now and loads of no name brands too.

We had to make do with the old Panther Solar from Woolworths when we were kids….. or if my old man had spent everything in the pub again we’d sometimes have to settle for the 99p black slip on pumps they used to sell. Either that or go bare footed I’m afraid
