Had high hopes for him once (Galloway, not Azul). . . . . . . but that seems like a very long time ago now.
Really couldn't say how he'll do at Plymouth, but hope he does well.

He was sent out on a terrible season long loan to West Brom under Tony Pulis, which was a complete disaster, and it appeared to destroy any confidence he had when he 1st came through. Another disaster of a season long loan to relegated Sunderland the following year, who signed both him and Tyias Browning on loan from us to replace half of their defence, and he was as good as done. Any leeway he might have had with Martinez was gone under Koeman, and even though Koeman was gone 18 months later, Galloway had dropped way down the pecking order and never looked like regaining his early promise.

Its a shame really, because early on, he looked like we might have another John Stones, but it wasn't to be.

Wish him luck at his new club and hope you have a good year. If he can rediscover what he showed in 2015, he could be a really good signing, but it's possible that his problems seem to be mental rather than physical, so it's a difficult 1 to judge.

This describes Brendan completely, signed by Everton at eighteen years of age and given a five year contract, which showed he had plenty of potential, still a teenager he made his debut versus Spurs at Goodison Park, had a good game and looked a fine capable defender until he lost his place and he has just gone steadily down in his career, as Kever says, in an above post, it looks like it’s a mental problem, he had the ability, but somehow now doesn’t believe in himself, he’s still young, so if he is fit enough he should still have that ability to make a career for himself, although it must be obvious to the lad, and his caring family, I spoke to them at an U23 game at Goodison, that he is running out of chances at this stage of his career, I wish him well and hope he gets a contract at your club Plymouth Argyle.
 

Really weird, he looked good when he first came on the scene and like he was going to have a long-term future. Went on loan to Sunderland which was a disaster and also picked up some injuries. Career completely tailed off.

He's not the only one, same happened to Garbutt who had looked even better and there's numerous other examples as well. Our academy has just become awful at preparing players for first-team football and we've sent a lot lads out on terrible loans which killed their confidence.

Hope he does okay, seemed a really level-headed chap.
