Brazil v Ivory Coast

Kaka red might come back to hurt them. They're going to need brazil to beat portugal. Nothing they can do really, but not best scenario for Ivory Coast.

When Kaka got his first yellow, it should have been a red, he raised his hands and kicked out. Not a Sharpe Volley style kick but still a technical red.
The Camera angle does not show where his elbow is when Keita (?) runs into him, it does not appear to be in his face, but lets not deceive one another, he knew he was coming and his arm definitely moves. So red card deserved overall, and Brazil were far from virtuous when it came to diving around and hitting the deck.
Drogba was wrongly off sided. Brazil second was a double hand ball. And Elano should have got a yellow card for an uncontrolled tackle with both feet raises, albeit without studs leading.
Linekar "22 of the 23 man Brazil squad are married, which is a WC record." going to sleep soundly tonight on that one!

Kaka had to go, and it should have been red for his first yellow. Shearer "lifts his arm a little bit". Hmmm.
And Dunga was giving it a dose of the Zebedee's a minute earlier when Robinho dived to try and con a freekick out of the ref.

I love when people justify cheaters. By pointing out other cheaters and mis-calls.. The Beautiful game is very ugly when these little girly-boys dive and fake being hurt..

Is it cheating to dive and pretened to be hurt? Yes.

Is it cheating to hack someones legs away from then because you can't get the ball from them fairly or stop a ball on the line with your hands because you can't reach it with your head or pull someones shirt so they can't stop your attacker from heading the ball? Also yes.

I don't understand why diving annoys people more than any other type of foul does.

Because the divers, far more often than not, get away with it. Its that damn sense of fairness.

Most divers get caught mate. It's just you only remember when they don't.

It just bugs me that when someone clatters a player who would get past him if they played fair, its a smart professional taking one for the team, when someone dives so as to give his team an advanatage they wouldn't have got if they played fair, it's a disgrace that ruins the game.

I can't imagine a pundit ever saying, 'lad should have gone over there' but they have no problems saying 'someone should have taken him out before he had a chance to shoot.'

I also don't buy how pretending to be hurt when you're not is any worse than claiming a throw in when you know it bounced off you last.

God knows I hate anyone who dives against Everton or England but no more than I hate thugs who try to cripple our players. And you can guarantee that a diver will get more abuse .

Do you really think so? I'm not being daft, I just seem to see so many fakes and in this WC, only 2 cards (against Germany) that i remember seeing. Theres alot of dives that are just overexagerations (no contact made, or light contact and the "diver" goes down in HORRENDOUS F'ING AGONY)
It just maddens me as the teams I root for most (US ENG AUS) don't seem too apt to dive and I think they suffer for it when they play teams that do

Your point about throw ins...thats bothersome, but rarely has an effect on the game...whereas a dive in the box (Italy today on the little shirt pull) can change the game completely.

Maybe I'm completely off....I'll say this, never once this year in Everton play did i get upset about dives...yeah they may have happened, but the reffing seems to be so much better and consistant...

just my opinion

Your absolutely right. Ronaldo is so talented but I can't stand him because of his fairy attitude. The Italians work on their acting it's part of their game. I just can't stand it. English, US and most talented South American teams don't prostitute themselves to this tactic. It's just killing the game.

Kaka probably should have gotten a red straight off as it was as bad as what the Camerroon player got sent off for. Keita deserves to be suspended too. That was completely shameless.

Why is Sven coaching? Here's a novel idea, try an African coach. You know the coaches who have trophies in Jr worlds and the Olympics. Or better yet call me. I'm sure I could coach the Ivory coast right out of the group stage for a 98% discount.

So you are counting Argentina and Brazil out of this diving cr@p?

I think they invented the whole thing...

If Kaka got sent off for a 2nd yellow which the referee or linesman did not see, then England are buggered.

The opposition players got Kaka sent off, which jeopardises the integrity of the game. Justified or not, the players clearly influenced the referee which i personally think is a disgrace...

The ref did not know what was going on, but ended up pulling out a red....sorry.....that is poor.
