Just turned on season 1 on Netflix, it's so funny watching Walter (with a full head of hair) bumbling through the school grabbing lab equipment. The transformation is incredible through the show.

If you gave me a choice between writing an awesome and realistic story or pleasing the general audience i know which i'd choose. I reckon the writing has been on the wall for a while that there's only really one or two ways out for Walter, and neither will result in him retiring in the suburbs with his wife and kids.

He's probably one of the most interesting lead characters i have ever seen on TV, regardless of whether i think he's morally repugnant, he's f***ing ace. The end of the last episode where he hides the meth and has Mike and Jesse playing his game was awesome.

I get that, and agree. And also agree on the sketchy writing during season 5. Why would Mike trust Walt? Especially as he pointed a gun at his head the episode prior to the latest one. He's been suspicious of him throughout, makes little or no sense to entrust that job to him and expect him to pull through.
And obviously, I hadn't expected him to grow old and live happily ever after.

Maybe it's just me being angry at one of my favs being killed off and the likeability factor of an old fav has decreased and i'm merely venting, as I've held the show to such a high regard before.

Mike didn't have anyone else to get the bag for him, so it was only left to Walt. Mike never trusted him, but he did not think he would ever do something as rash as murder him as he was trying to get away.

The show is about Walt, that's it. If you're upset one of your favourites who isn't Walt has been killed off, then that's your own fault.

Just finished series 2 of this and its great, took me a few episodes to warm to it but I'm addicted now, got series 3 on netflix now and they are advertising series 4 coming early September on there so I've got at least 2 more series lined up before I run out. Reading peoples reactions to series 3 and 4 I cant wait to get stuck into these, although I hope Skylar becomes less irritating as it goes on.

The opposite. Which is good because it gives me somebody to hate while loving Walt and thinking he's ace.

I'm not reading anymore of this thread as I've only just finished series 2. It's very good but nowhere near as good as the wire, so far....

I've never watched the wire, but it seems to be getting some good mentions in here so maybe that's what I'll give a go after I'm caught up on this. Always meant to watch Sopranos but never got round to it, Walking Dead has also been recommended by a guy at work so that's on the growing list to.
