Just been inivited for a coffee by a girl I've fancied for ages. It's at work so no chance of Dutch courage beforehand. I'm a jibbering wreck. Could do with a nice bit of smack to calm me down

Man up. The fact that she has invited you should say enough.Just been inivited for a coffee by a girl I've fancied for ages. It's at work so no chance of Dutch courage beforehand. I'm a jibbering wreck. Could do with a nice bit of smack to calm me down![]()
I did it. Without booze or smack. It could have gone worse I guess.Man up. The fact that she has invited you should say enough.
So is a second meeting on the cards?I did it. Without booze or smack. It could have gone worse I guess.
Well I was one of about 30 people she invited as it's her birthday apparently. But it was a bit of a turn up that she invited me at all because we've only spoken once before and got as far as "Hi, how are you" and that was it. Literally once. There was no one else I knew there so was a bit awkward. But had a brief chat and then I'll drop her line in a day or 2 and see if she wants to meet up,So is a second meeting on the cards?

I always thought the lyric "sure as Kilamanjaro rises like Olympus above the Serengeti" was "sure as Kilamanjaro rises like a memphis above the Serengeti".I’ve just found out that the lyrics in Toto’s song ‘Africa’ aren’t what I thought they were.
I always thought the lyric “I bless the rains down in Africa” was “I guess it rains down in Africa”.
That is all.
This is a not totally uninteresting tale you're narrating. Please stay on-topic.Well I was one of about 30 people she invited as it's her birthday apparently. You probably thought the song ‘Walking in Olympus’ was called ‘Walking in Memphis’, too...I always thought the lyric "sure as Kilamanjaro rises like Olympus above the Serengeti" was "sure as Kilamanjaro rises like a memphis above the Serengeti".
Similarly, when Kiss sang (in God of Thunder) "I was born on Olympus, to my father, a son", I always thought they said "I was born out of Memphis, to my father a son"
I've never been to Memphis...I should visit it one day.
