William Hill took their biggest pre-season bet so far as one gutsy punter in Liverpool put down £44,000 on his side to win the league (£22,000 e/w).
The man, in his mid thirties and a Liverpool fan, backed his side at 25/1 and William Hill have now cut their odds to 16/1 for them to win the Premier League title.
Should Liverpool win the League he will scoop £777,333.33 and should they finish second, he will pick up £205,333.33.

Aldo can afford it.........

Just saw a post from a Liverpool fan on twitter, talking about Suarez:

"What a lovely guy. Not your modern day arsehole footballer. Should be a role model for footballers. Despite his past."

I mean... seriously, what is the matter with them?! You literally couldn't make it up. A role model ffs!

Hi everyone been using some of the other forums but only jist found this 1 an this is by far the best out there!!1

i was sitting watching MOTD last night an was pi**ing myself watching the redsh*te and then it dawned on me that their manager talks so mutch crap its untrue. I looked at his previous clubs an apart from 2 seasons at swansea he been sackedfrom all his other jobs nameley watford an reading, an when you look at his job at swansea he took over a team that roberto martinez had built an moulded previously so he only had limited work to do.

However when you hear him talk he speaks with a tone of someone who has won title after title that no-one should doubt!! Liverpool have took a massive gamble on this lad an there is very little evidence to back him up. he spoke about not spending big in transfer market after paying 15 million on joe allen. I can honestly see a real bottom half struggle this year for them even maybe flirting with bottom 5 -6 they so average its untrue an i can see a slip from were they were last year.

Any views?

What's untrue, lad?

Oh, and welcome to GOT. Take some time to look around and get a feel for the place, because it is wonderful.

I love my club, but I'm not deluded into thinking that unless there is some miracle we aren't finishing anywhere higher than 4-5th and this will never change until there is some kind of luxury tax/salary cap etc in the prem.

Now this is from some deluded blog called Liverpool Kop:

As Sullivan said. 35M man is perfect for West Ham's style of football and in my view Carrol needs to accept his limitations and move on instead of clinging on to hope that he has the ability to fit in on a technically gifted passing team.

West Ham is Carroll's Level, not Liverpool.

A remarkable coincidence to relay to you all (re Liverpool's worst opening day score since 1937 - my Father was at that game!!!):
My father is nearly 83. He was born in Liverpool* in 1930 &, being correctly brought up on a diet of Dixie Dean & Tommy Lawton, was born into the Blue way. His father, had the great good fortune to be present at several momentous football matches - firstly the 1928 Everton v Arsenal game in which Dixie scored his 60th goal & Everton won the title. Several years later, now living in London, he took my father to an opening day fixture at Stamford Bridge - Vic Woodley in goal for the Pensioners. The visitors were none other than Liverpool & Chelsea recorded a 6-1 win (my father tells me he remembers most of the goals were down the other end!) - Liverpool's worst opening day score.
A year later my Dad was present at Highbury to witness Tommy Lawton net for Everton in a 2-1 win on their way to the title.
Dad is very much looking forward to tonight's match at Goodison. Come on You Blues!!

*on Everton Road - I go past the house on the way to the match.

Fritzl - what a lovely guy. Not your modern day arsehole father. Should be a role model for fathers. Despite his past.
