Surely even you can grant yourself a smile looking at the table. I won’t say we’ll continue to push up the table as I’m experienced enough to know football can be cruel but it’s a better feeling than any Dyche period this season.

Very pleased with that 3 points. I must confess to harbouring grave fears we'd be playing our first season at BMD in the 2nd division. Those fears have been dispelled.. and that pleases me greatly

Defensive - very solid indeed.

Provided the occasional threat in the first half and nothing much in the second.

Once we got the goal we shut up shop but it was extremely effective.

O’Brien was very good again on the right with the whole defence rock solid and a very special mention for Gana who was excellent in midfield.

Brighton is a happy hunting ground for Everton and the Spurs game last week was against a very weakened Spurs starting line up.

Let's not all start believing the sunlit uplands are within reach just yet.
