Not a single lesson learned. Davies is left out once again in favour of the defensive partnership of Morgs and Gana. Rooney and Sigurdsson once again both start in a team that lacks any real width. And Holgate is once again preferred at right back despite having shown on many occasions that he's got little to offer offensively. Does Koeman have an actual plan for winning this game, because I'd love to know what it is.

We'd better win, otherwise

At least he's dropped Williams. But I agree total mess, presume the tactic is hold on and nick one on the break but Vlasic apart where is the pace to do that?! It's poor, so poor. It's why he needs to go.

exactly
if he was playing, enjoying his football, he could get an apartment in Manchester or Cheshire if he thinks its posher than Liverpool who cares, but he could do well if he just got selected.

I cant help thinking we are missing out by not playing more 'mates' and 'partners' in the team. Everyone has a buddy or an on-pitch partner that they have a good understanding with, and it looked like a Davies - DCL - Lookman - axis could really work.

101%

That's not a bad team.

As long as Rooney sticks up and gives Gylfi some room, with DCL joining in from the flank and not getting stuck out wide, though.

Wish Lookman would at least be on the bench - same with Kenny. No need at all for Martina to be there instead of him.

Why's it a mess?

What team would you have picked pal?

The back four is probably on paper our 'strongest' with what is available atm.

Gueye and Schneiderlin - questionable whether they should both be in over Davies.

Gylfi in his best position. Vlasic - who has impressed - given another go, and Rooney playing up top where he belongs.

The only 'square peg' really here is DCL, but he deserves to start and the tactic will likely be for him to cut inside from wide, not stay there.

The bench - Martina over Kenny is ridiculous. Sandro may have a knock or may well just be given time in the U23s to try and get some minutes and refind his form. The lad is 22 at the end of the day and has looked devoid of any confidence. Shame not to see Lookman involved.
