I kind of view it like I view the League Cup. "A cup worth winning" sure, but most of the time it just ends up being B teams from everybody. Our squad for it will end up being mostly MLS'ers.

It would be much more meaningful if it was done once every 4 years. The one a year after the WC is the one that matters. The 2nd one countries just send their B sides too.

Maybe not anymore. The rule change stating the 2 winners playoff for the Confed Cup should mean teams bring strong squads every time now.

The latest rumors on DeAndre Yedlin say a transfer to AS Roma.

As impressive as NBC's studio coverage has been, NBC's web/twitter presence has been incompetent in equal measure. GOT produces better original news, and even the animal humping links are more credible than most of what NBC reproduces.

So I'm quite hopeful Yedlin doesn't trial there, although worse things have come true. They're reporting this as "Metro gossip" and don't even have a link to the source (here's the link).

I do think you'll see Yedlin and Besler (maybe more) go out on January loans between the MLS seasons and get a taste of Euro or PL action ahead of a possible summer 15 move.

I live just outside of DC and can confirm RFK is a dump. However it does have some things going for it. It's pretty easy to get to both by car and Metro. FedEx Field on the other hand is a nightmare to get to.

Are they getting a soccer-specific stadium? Seems like that would be a good investment, great for International matches as well as United.
