On present form I'd fancy us strongly in the first Derby..that's been the case for a couple of seasons now but this current crop of Everton players tend to lay down and die when Liverpool start getting physical.

:(

Plus they do seem to step it up against United.

Well they did cause they had a big game mentality in the club. But that doesn't seem to be there now.

I agree, although I also fancied us strongly in the derbies last year...

It's great to go into the Goodison derby as genuine favourites to win, it's not something I've had much of in my lifetime. We're also probably most neutral's pick to win, it's not often that a team is both of those! :D

The problem is that we try to match them physically instead of passing it around. They are bigger than us and will push us around all over the pitch if we keep trying to match them tackle for tackle. The only thing we'll get is an L in the loss column and a couple injuries to boot unless we change tactics against them.

this. we gotta out football them coz they always trump us with the snide card. will we get an impartial referee? oh and keep neville in the stands for this one at least

I think I'll stick with my prediction that they'll finish 8th-10th this season.

No European football for them next season.

Lets not get to excited, we haven't set the world on fire ourselves. 2 losses and 2 draws.
we need to be playing at a much higher level to beat them or it will end up as a bore draw or who can sneak a goal and hold on.

it will be a race to see who hits form first before the derby.
