My step daughter and her boyfriend live a few streets down from the RS home. She came down to our house last week for her sisters birthday and only stayed a few hours cos Liam had to get to work. My mrs ran them home. Louise opened the front door and walked into a [Poor language removed] mess. Everything had been taken. The pair of them are gutted. Cheeky robbin bastards even emptied Liams work bag so they could fill it up with stuff. Lovely area to live in. Sorry to depress people but I had to tell someone :@ By the way, did the police turn up? Did they [Poor language removed]. To busy looking for motorists to nick. Theres money in that.

Sorry to hear that mate. We got done a few years back, sods pulled down the curtains to carry stuff away. Look after the pair of them, especially the girl. With my wife it was not the loss of material possessions but the fact of the break in that upset her most. Time will heal the hurt, but for now just support them.

Sorry again mate. Wish I could be of more help.

All we can do right now is support them both. She dont wanna go out now incase it happens again. Crap innit.

We got robbed by eastern Europeans on tour once. We caught them thankfully and called the police. It's not a nice feeling and your step-daughter will be feeling very vulnerable right now. (n)

Thats really shitty. [Poor language removed] smack heads probably. Hope they get their cum-uppence.

You know what I said exactly the same thing to Louise. Her street is crawling with bag heads. They probably watched her go out and were in straight away. They take anything they can get their dirty little hands on. My youngest brother is on the gear and I wouldnt trust him as far as I could throw him. I wont tell him where I live and I deffo wont give him my phone number. He's still alive but really he's been dead for years. Dirty horrible bastards.

Harsh prison sentences for housebreakers is the answer. It's a nasty, vicious crime and the victim feels like [Poor language removed] afterwards. It can completely destroy their sense of well-being in the place where it should be strongest. But no doubt these people, if caught, will end up on community service. It's a scandal, it really is. And again, I'm sorry for your family, mate.

Well, yeah, when you catch someone up to no good in your house, a good kicking is the way to go. But if I was thieving little scally, I'd sooner have a good kicking than a harsh prison sentence. In fact, I'd sooner have a good kicking than a prison sentence full stop.

Lock 'em up, mate. It solves two problems: (1) It keeps them out of our hair (and houses); and (2) it makes people think twice before breaking into houses.

Not even sure if you can automatically blame the heroin either. We've been robbed twice, both by professional criminals, not little skagheads. And the last lad I knew that broke into houses (my neighbour), had never touched the skag in his life.

If I remember, roughly £30k a year to keep someone in jail for a year.
