I can’t lay the blame for this with Lampard. All of the bad decisions over the last 5 years in terms of transfers and managerial appointments have coincided with awful injuries to key players and rotten luck to lead us to this position. This is reminiscent of Leeds 20 odd years ago, Newcastle and Villa more recently. No one is too big to go down, and we are clearly not too good to go down. A mess.

We were beaten because "defenders" didn't do their job - ie defend/mark/clear the ball effectively...including Pickford's Norman Wisdom type clearance in their winning goal build up. I never mentioned a fluke on their part.. they didn't need a fluke when we simply handed it to them on a bleedin plate.
