I think that's for many, it's a natural reaction to most goals - you quickly check the linesman. Whenever we score at Goodison, it's where my eyes first go to.

Used to do the same. Never attended a VAR game so far but I imagine that it just sucks that immediate joy away while you worry about something minor being seen
