Hello dear Evertonians.

I know it’s a point of pride to consider Everton’s history in the game but with it now being 30 years since the club won a point can we still consider Everton a “big club”? It just seems an ever long cycle of celebrating dinners and token awards like Everton giants for our players who last won something, makes us feel somewhat of a relic. I wonder what other fans and the media really think of Evertonians claim to being a big club.

I ask you to vote with your head than your heart.
What clubs would you consider big clubs mate? Other than City and Chelsea who have won multiple leagues and a Champions league in last decade, most top sides have been poor. RS have won same amount of Premier Leagues as Leicester, they bottled 1 title under Benitez, 3 under Klopp. Managed to beat renowned bottlers Spurs in Madrid, when they shouldn't have gone through group stage. Spurs last won league in black and white, United, like Arsenal have won a few FA cups, but have been miles behind City in recent seasons. We are a big club, who were run by a big bellend for years, hardly surprising we didn't win anything. Kenwright spent years waited for right owner and picked somebody who accused Lukaku of making decisions based on witchcraft and announcing things through Jim White. Had we been run properly we wouldn't be in this mess. Add to that Kenwright said his favourite song was YNWA, in an interview and considered a fella living in a 1 bedroomed flat in Manchester as a serious investor, probably explains why we haven't won a trophy in 30 years.

Of course we are a big club! We have won nine league titles, have the most (122) seasons in the top flight and were founding members of the Football League. Add to that the five FA Cup triumphs, numerous other honours, club firsts and our many legendary players - there should not be any doubt that we are a huge club. It is absolutely criminal that we have not won a trophy in 30 years.
We are starting to sound like Preston North End

Just think of the support Everton gets especially after all the shenanigans we’ve endure in the last period of our history.
The so called bigger clubs are Jonny come lately levels.
Seen other teams away support over the years with loads of empty seats and half allocations filled.
Believe me Everton are still a massive club. Other establishments not too far away have the media on their side. So much that it’s sickening and they biased against Everton. No other club has to endure that.
Don’t get me started on the premier league and the referee’s association either.

This debate depends on perspective of view, and like everything in life nowadays that perspective gets shorter and shorter.

Historically undoubtedly one of English football's biggest institutions, with success that matches anyone but 2 or 3. But in the digital age timeframe we are an irrelevance to most outside Merseyside I would imagine. Leicester, Villa, Newcastle, even Fulham, Forest etc. viewed as bigger given recent short term relative success.

It would be really interesting to get a genuine poll of all football fans for top 8 biggest English clubs, 6 would be obvious due to media over 20 years plus now (though what Spurs do to earn their place is beyond me) who would the other 2 be? Us and Villa (in Championship 5 years ago)? Newcastle (in Championship iteratively over last 10 years)? Would be fascinating to see what others genuinely think.

Liverpool. Man Utd, Man City, Chelsea and Arsenal in this country in this era mate.

We're big in Japan.

I’m in my mid 50s so I might be biased with opinions. There are a number of factors to consider before stating a club is big. Of course trophies won needs to be taken into account, but I consider stadia, average attendances and worldwide fanbase and sales of replica shirts to also be an indicator.
Of course our new stadium will be one of the best, if not the best stadium in the league. Nearly 53k will fill it every week. Our away support is one of the best in the country. We always sell out our allocation, despite being starved of success.
i’d put us on par with Villa and Spurs, ahead of the barcodes but significantly behind a top 3 of United , RS and Arsenal. We were part of the original big 5 who formed the PL and whilst our peers kicked on, we under Kenwright and co have stood still.

Are we still tied into that ridiculous contract with kitbag? I still see no RBJs on sale in sports shops in Ireland while the sky 6 are everywhere.
