Can we finish in the top 4?

Simon Smith

Player Valuation: £5m
This was a question set to the one and only Robbie Savage on Football Focus red button.

His answer was.....
If Everton finish in the top 4 I (R.S.) will have a short back and sides.

Well I hope we do and he keeps his side of the deal because I for one would love to see the over quaffed Welsh Poodle get a hair cut

Possible but really unlikely unless we avoid any major injuries to key players, start playing positively against all the lower table teams and our new players gel straight away.

We've got a good enough starting 11 to do it but all the top 4 teams have far stronger squads. We'd need to ride our luck and hope Moyes really goes for it against teams we should beat.

Can we? Yes.

Will we? Probably not.

I'd say 5th or 6th is a more realistic goal for now.

No. Id be happy to improve on last year and get automatic Europa spot. The 2 manchester clubs and chelsea are nailed on for 3 spots, and it would take an unbelievable effort from the players and loads of luck to beat everyone else to 4th.

I'd like to think the confidence gained early on from the United win could encourage us to perform more like we did against Swansea, Sland and Fulham in the second half of last season and hand out some beatings early on to give us a platform to build on. From there, it'd be a case of holding onto our spot for dear life like we did on 04/05 and like Newcastle nearly did last year. Possible, but very, very unlikely.

I told my Chelsea supporting mate that we have a chance of fighting for the 4th spot and he just laughed at me. The other sides that are above us in the table excluding Chelsea and the Manchester teams aren't really that. Just a big shame we couldn't strengthen last summer when the opposition was even more poo. We would have to have a good season and get a bit lucky, but why not. We're Everton FFS.

I don't really think Spurs or Newcastle have improved nor have the R/S. I think we could get above them. Arsenal and Chelski might just be a bridge too far though.

Wengers midfield will say a lot about where they're going. Song had a lot more bite to his game than Arteta, they will need to replace that.

If anyone was to get pushed out this season I believe it would be Arsenal, so your asking can we finish above Arsenal?

Who knows they don't have RVP carrying them this year, I don't think Spurs will do well without Harry this year either.
