I guess this might be the place to say that Pete Buttigieg is going to save the world....hopefully he will get the chance, at least.

Listened to the Jon Stewart weekly podcast and he is one of the most eloquent and calm explainer of situations and how things work. He is the one to turn a few heads in the MAGA cult. In fact he seems to have already done this. I have seen a few clips of him on a right wing podcast and the MAGA guys were sat there intensely listening to what he was saying, could not do anything but agree that, for example, the tariffs are hurting the average American.

He can reunite the world with the US.

I forget how little freedom of speech or thought exists across the pond. Everything is hate speech, fascist, nazi, or racist strictly due to not liking something or someone.

Mayor Pete couldn't even succeed in the role of Secretary of Transportation. He performed terribly in the primaries, and if he does run in 2028, he will be a distant 4th or 5th at best.

The Democrats don't have centrist candidates who would be able to win over the independent or undecided voters. The progressives have alienated 80% of the party's base.

They currently have so many easy targets to attack from the current administration, and they are missing each time. It's so frustrating to be stuck in a two-party system where neither can execute or articulate a plan.

I wish it would go back to the old way, of the top two vote-getters are President and Vice-President and are given the appropriate powers, which Jefferson worked to mitigate due to his dislike of John Adams.
