Yes, it was in 1965, I was wearing the number 7 shirt, a lot of you will be too young to remember that far back so will not be able to recall the two goals I scored.:P

Earliest game I can remember is 5th February 1972 as a 9 year old Everton v Walsall FA Cup 4th Round, we won 2-1!

I was taken by an uncle and we sat in the very back row of the Upper Gladys Street - fantastic, I can still remember the thrill of seeing the blue boys running out to Z Cars for the very first time.

Incidentally the most thrilling and memorable moment I can remember is Kevin Ratcliffe lifting the FA Cup in 1984 - I can remember the feeling of relief as 14 trophy-less years were swept away.

Oh how sweet our next trophy will be (2007-8 hopefully) !!!!!

Some great stories and memerios lads, Jesus R.J. and Monts id love to sit and listen to the two of you talk for an evening, you must have some great ecperiences and stories to tell for us Younger Blues!

I think Robert and CT will agree with me Neiler being a blue is about all our history, the great times, the heartaches, the pride and the passion. The Wimbledon game was possible the most emotional I ever got over the blues, hopes gone, the football sewer was staring us in the face and a miracle comes along (most reds will say we paid out back handers but they know more about that than we do) I honestly believe that if we had everything handed to us on a plate I would not have enjoyed my time as a blue half as much, most of you will find that out when we win our next trophy, ooooooooh the ecstasy:D (y)

Just on the subject of "next trophy" with the start of the coming season it will have been 12 years without a cup win, what is the longest we have gone without winning?

(I could go check but meh :P)

I worked out the longest time we ever not won a league is every 24 years, strangley its happened twice. when was the last time we won and how long have got to wait?

Bring it on, Monty! Its exactly the way i feel, only our club could look certain doom in the face and the following season go and win the F.A. cup. For many of us it was our only success in living memory. I often think back to that team the hornes , parkinsons, rideouts, fergusons, Jacksons, Limpars, in many ways no where near our greatest team but embodied the spirt of the club and what we stand for most integrity, tradition, commitment and passion, for me they will always have a special place in our history.

Looking to the future, i really beleive we are close to winning a trophy. Moysey is destined to do it and it will be the culmination of last few years of carefull planning, attention to detail and commitment.

It still amazes me that with players coming and going Moyesy has only spent 5.5 milllion.

Heres to what i beleive is a very positive future.

Neiler being an Everton supporter is one hell of a traumatic experience, the highs and the depressing lows. You just never know which is coming next, but swap it. Not on your life. It is a matter of pass me the Valium or where are the Bennys.
