There is no proven causal link between cannabis and schizophrenia.

You're suggesting we sell heroin and krokodil and worry about it later?
Plus no one has ever been stoned to death (should really phrase that better), unlike people regularly drinking themselves to death. A neighbours friend died this Christmas age only 19 from boozing..There is no proven causal link between cannabis and schizophrenia.
He could have just as easily become an alcoholic instead..The arguments for it are all reasonable, but they ignore the reality, having seen one of my closest friends from school (bright guy) go to university, get hooked on weed and completely fail uni (and ultimately ruin his life) despite the uni giving him every opportunity, because he wanted to just stay at home and smoke weed with his pals, I cannot think of any argument that would make me think legalising it would be a good idea.

Cancer is an underlying condition in everybody mate, I wouldn't want to partake in something illegal to encourage the onset of it.Cannabis does not cause psychosis by itself but there is a growing body of evidence that it can exacerbate an underlying condition.

Have you not contradicted yourself with your first sentence ? Apologies if I'm misreading it.Schizophrenia and psychosis aren't, so that's a poor comparison.
Smoking is legal, and there actually is a proven causal link between smoking and cancer, so the legality argument is a non-starter. The law's an ass. There's no health-based rationale for it, and in the places where they have legalised it, it is proving successful on a number of levels. Drug policy in this country is ridiculous.
