Like it or not, he works well with Rooney in a way no other forward does.

To be fair, Jagielka has missed the majority of the season and clearly wasn't sharp when he returned. He needs a pre-season and I can understand why Fabio Capello has chosen not to take him. Good news for us aswell.
As for the others, I don't see the big problem with Heskey, Rooney clearly plays well for him and it seems to benefit the side with him in it. It's not always about the best eleven, players have got to compliment eachother.

Hart,James,Green-Bang on really.
Defenders- Carragher..meh in my heart i think he should never even been considered. But despite being just about of his last legs I can see why Capello picked him. Upson on the other hand is quite baffling, how can you select a defender who plays for a team that finished 17th, barely surviving the drop.His England performances have been less than convincing. Yes you can say about Jags injury recovery but to be frank he has hit the ground running since he has been back. Also, they have King in the squad...fitness is no issue for England it seems.
Jags for Upson, not too sure about Warnock either. Already have Baines, swap Warnock for a RB, Richards from city is the first player I would have,I think.
Midfield, what is the state of Barry's fitness, didn't he have an injury? Very excited to see Parker and Johnson, see what they can do.
Strikers- Pretty bang on, Zamora, although has been good in Europe has been poor in the league. Bent for me. Heskey is a big choice too, doesn't play for Villa anymore. But loads of goal-prolific strikers have sweared by him and his partnership with Rooney is pretty good. However, in England, where football is a religion, does Heskey really belong in the starting 11.

For me, as you may guess from the first comment on the thread, Heskey cannot go. I know Rooney plays well with him but Rooney can play well with anyone. I just cannot understand taking a striker who does not score. Pointless. Cole or Zamora for me.
As for the Jaga thing, all the better for us next season. Carragher won't even get a game so i don't care about him.
