Capello / What Next?

So after a dismal World Cup Finals what do you think the FA should do with Fabio Capello?

To be honest the coach is the best we've had over the past few years (not very hard considering we've had Sven & Mclaren) so therefore I think we should give him another stint.

The fact is during qualifying he got everything right, changed things and played the right players.

Personally I think the pressure told on Fabio during the WC, dropping Theo Walcott and then not playing Peter Crouch, them two were instrumental in getting England to the WC. The excuse that the players dislike the coach is utter bullshit. I think after going down 3-1 he gave up on the game today and he decided to try and prove his international managerial status in the Euro's

Also we should not depend on Wayne Rooney.

Thoughts? x

Why curtail what he's started, spot on there mate.

He should be at least given the chance of putting together a team for the Euros.

Whats he started? Hes started nothing. Its not like a Club Manager and hes put the seeds in and waiting for them to sprout.

He had the entire footballing talent of England to pick and he went with Heskey and Caralalalar, inexcuseable and grounds for a hanging, nevermind the sack.

Your words are hollow, considering how anti-English your stance has been.

He picked the same team as the newspapers, so therefore he is a traditional English manager, and therefore must be good.

If he had bigger balls, he might have realised the so called 'best players' weren't the ones picked, and he also played the same players who consistently failed to perform in the previous 3 matches with any conviction.

Sorry, but Sven was a damn good manager. This guy failed.

Next please.

Loving how he said he wont quit, I guess he needs the sack and pay off.

Oh well, see you all in 2012, when I jump back on the bandwagon, im off this one for now.

England deserve to be lead by an Englishman. Our FA should also take responsibility and make way for a younger more daring breed.

You weeping into your Gerrard top there lid?

He mucked up in this tournament with some stubborn stuff but beforehand he had England storming through the qualifying. Lets be honest, you were loving him.

If you want a finger of blame, Capello deserves some but the utter helmet over hyped players deserve it equally. Cull them and start again.

Please God hire Hodgson. As Liverpool manager Roy will say classy nice things about us. I won't know how to deal with it.

This (in all fairness) is all that needs to be said.

Capello made mistakes but there are starting players who have a starting job already penciled in and they didn't show up at all. That is the problem. Heskey, Carragher, and to a lesser extent Upson are the weakest players in the starting lineup. They AREN'T SUPPOSED TO CARRY THE SIDE.

Here's what your penciled in starters (almost all of whom would have been picked by any manager) did.

Terry unsettles the squad and tries a coup to take the captianacy from Gerrard.

Glen Johnson is soiled toliet paper.

Barry (you know the missing link) is a disgrace and the laziest player in the world. He's City through and through.

Remember Ashley Cole, the so called best LB in the world, he actually played every minute of every match, I don't remember his name ever being called though.

Dont forget Rooney, the worst player on the pitch in the Algeria and US matches. The guy capable of scoring 8 on the way to England lifting the WC. He wasn't 1/2 as good as Heskey was (read that sentence again). The only reason why he wasn't the worst in Germany match was because Barry and Johnson put in a masterclass of ineptness and laziness that has rarely been seen before.
