Help me out, fitness dudes.

Anyone got any tips for a slightly overweight wool looking to enter the realms of cardio? I have a treadmill, bike and stepper in the gym.

I've put one a few too many kilos now, the blame is squarely with mick of nick making me eat loads of food and drink loads of rum.

Im a bit chubby like, hating this over 30 thing.

Get off your fat arse, turn the computer off and go for a 10 mile run.

Thats a good start

Start off with a fitness check mate. You dont want to keel over sticking your leg warmers on. Seriously.

Im fat, im happy that im fat, I realise that by being fat im cutting down my life, I can handle that. I would rather be happy and fat, than unhappy and skinny. Food makes me happy, exercise doesnt.

I used to live next door to some fella, good lid he was, he put on a few pounds, so he started running and shizzle, lost loads of weight was looking good. Went out 1 night for a few drinks and got run over. Deaded.

You are best talking to one of the instructors and get them to help you make a fitness programme around you, that would be my advice

Whats the problem? You will either get fit or die, not really a problem if the first happens, but great if the second. Or should that be the other way round ?? !! ?? !!

Alright, by Cardio thing do you mea Cardiovascular excersise. That's excersising the large muscles such as your legs. This isn't weight work, it's more using running machines, steppers, bikes and rowers. Doing it will increase the strength of your heart and lungs

To give your heart a proper workout you need to make sure that you do your cardiovacular exercise with a certain amount of intensity, but you don't want to overdo it. One way measure the amount of exertion while exercising is by monitoring your heart rate.

You can measure your heart rate manually or with a heart rate monitor. I prefer using a heart rate monitor, but more about that later. Heart rate is the number of times your heart beats per minute. Everyone has a resting heart rate, which is just what it sounds like - the rate your heart beats per minute while you are resting. Everyone also has a maximum heart rate, which the maximum amount of times your heart can beat in a minute. Your 'target heart rate zone' is a range of heart rate that is considered to be the best rate to be in to give your heart a good workout. This range is between 50% and 85% of your maximum heart rate.

Find out your max heart rate, then find your cardiovacular workout rande (or sumat like that). Work hard in short bursts (1-2 mins) to workout, then work out slower to recuperate, then do it again etc.

Hope this helps, but dont take my words as gospel

I'd like to look semi alright in my thirties mate, for kissing girl factors.

In the gym today and some Greek cat asked me if I was Irish, I sad my family were and he said I could tell. Spun me out, Im not ginger like. Then he told me he was an Everton fan, and started to recite the 84/85 team.

He's a bar man at the swankiest nightclub in town, the one where micknick nearly broke his leg. I've got some free drinks going on now.

Blues everywhere.

Davek: he didnt want to move to Kirkby.
