Carlo Ancelotti Appointed Everton Manager

To those media clowns who say Ancelotti is a big risk because he ‘only knows’ how to manage top sides I say this: only top sides hire top managers, obviously he’s never going to have been tested at a non champions league outfit simply because he’s been that successful.

Would Mourinho be inappropriate for us? Pep? Klopp?
I don’t get this argument either. We have been managed badly this season under Silva, but I don’t think there is a huge gap in the quality of our squad to that of Utd or Arsenal and with a few breaks this season we would have been level or above them. If Ancelotti had been appointed at either of those clubs the narrative would be he is the perfect candidate to restore them back to greatness. You can’t even argue that Arsenal would have more money to spend than us, so it makes no sense.

Love the way you think we could build a new squad of 25 players for 400m.

Thats 16m a player in case you were struggling.
He wouldn't get ripped off. He has contacts to talent providers that wont take the piss. That's the big difference between him and Koeman and Brands.

In any case: £400M divided by 14 new players = £28M per player.

Yeh I’m still shocked we pulled this off.brilliant signing and so important.

get a goalscorer in Jan and it’ll make all the difference.

I'm under no illusion that it will take time and effort but the fans and board need to support him through the good and the bad, It's a journey not a race.

this club has seen Koeman and Brands waste over £400M on players that Ancelotti now has to get shut of and bring his own intelligent players in to replace.

That's the kicker. Right there in the balls. I have a wee bit more optimism, that there are players in the club that actually could come good. Given an arm around them and some encouragement. I want to believe that. How many opportunities do they need though?

You're playing in front of 40'000 fervent supporters and a manager who has seen it done it, and you still can't perform? I would doubt your fortitude. Question marks over whether you've got what it takes.

A complete clear out isn't an option but turning round to them and saying these are the standards, meet them or you're out, is.

He couldn't motivate, because he couldn't motivate himself. He knew he didn't have the job and wasn't too arsed about whipping up a storm to get at Arsenal.

That's why he was never ever going to be a serious shout for the Everton job, despite all the wishes of the legion of fans on a boyhood nostalgia trip conned into believeing he could cut it. He doesn't have the discipline for the task at hand.

This doesnt make any sense...you think Ferguson didnt try to motivate the players last match?

The bloke wanted any kind of result so he can say he was unbeaten...

Whichever way you spin it, hes unbeaten over 90mins with an injury and sickness hit squad.

Which players would you keep?

They looked clueless. Arsenal had a scratch team out. No excuses.

May have been a scratch team but they were not subjected to 3 games in a week as our players were.

Look how much money Man City wasted on players and managers before they got it right

Exactly.

And I say that starts by sweeping clean behind the first team scene. Get shut of the 'make do' mentality and jobs for the boys who keep quiet and dont rock the boat. Yes the players need replacing (and those capabale retained), but we need the coaching staff replaced totally.

That Fergsuon is making a big song and dance out of 'doing enough' to stick around as an assistant is horrifying.
