Carlo Ancelotti

I always thought the mirror was always trying so hard to be like that horrible rag we all hate for good reason. Both copy each other and are terrible. Full of lies and crap.

I remember how snide they got in that first Martinez season over the loan players and then had a back cover about how terrible Lukaku was when we signed him the next season

I'll never forget the match report for Sunderland away where we won 0-1 thanks to an own goal where the dweeb writing the article wrote "Once again, the scorer of the winning goal was not an Everton player"

That was the moment I swore never to buy another copy of that paper

Mad isn't it.

They are owned by different companies, but if you were to cover the name of the toilet paper they call news you would swear they were one and the same.

Look at The Mirror here

How could any self-respecting Everton supporter even consider buying this rag?

They are desperate, DESPERATE, for us to know our place and stay where we are

Could it have anything to do with John Cross (Football Editor of the rag in question) being an Arsenal fan and him wanting Ancelotti to get the Arsenal job?

I'm not at liberty to say...
Screw them Mikey! Seriously hope we get Carlo, become boss again and pipe all the haters down.

Seriously, is it such a sin for us to want to have some ambition?!?

For people in the media it is yeah

To them our success in the 80's was a nightmare and they will do anything they can to make sure it never happens again

Everton must be kept in their place at all costs

I think a lot of the doubts about him are driven by him having not taken on a roll like the one at Everton before, or certainly not since possibly his jobs pre Juventus and that's 20 years ago, so I can kind of see where the shouts about him not being the right man stem from.

With that said, we'd be utterly mental to turn our noses up at a proven winner and if we somehow convinced him to come it'd at least be a sign that someone with half a brain was making decisions. Any new manager is always going to be a risk, but I'd rather take that risk with Ancelotti than David Moyes and the majority of the other names linked.
*Makes "who are you and what have you done with Bungle" joke*

If Guardiola decided to join Everton as manager there would be those who wouldn't want him.

Ancelotti would be a poke in the eye for the media who think we should operate within the range they have chosen for us.

However, I must say that I will hold a healthy scepticism until I see him holding up the jersey and admitting that he has been a closet Evertonian for years, what a great ground Goodison is and what knowledgable fans Evertonians are.

I still think Emery may have a part to play and when he left PSG and before joining Arsenal he was my first choice as manager and if it were him I would be more than happy.
The first two are far more likely than that.... would be a clear sign of delusion!

this would be amazing for 2 seasons

1) world class manager, very best appointment we could get and easily the best thing to ever happen to this club in my lifetime ( so far of course )

2) imagine the fume of everyone else, plucky little everton hiring a manager like this

The narrative would be Carlo is washed up and should retire.
