Wonder if he is waiting to hear from arsenal before deciding on joining everton...and that's why this is taking a bit longer. Not sure of maybe there are other clubs that potentially are on the verge of sacking their manager...I mean big clubs of course

There were reports he was wanting back in football very quickly but just wanting a couple of weeks over Christmas before jumping in. Would make sense.

Think it’s more complicated then simply.. you want the job? Yeah.. you start tomorrow.

your looking at Contract length, wages,bonus, clauses, expected spending, coaching staff(contracts)

That's why when you hear that you know it's complete wham. Just imagine Brands (who is also a board member) listening to FM and BK deciding who should be manager..."Hello fellas I'm the DoF here!".

Bottom line is Brands would walk if he didn't sign off on the manager. There would be little point else as basically others can make your reputation go down the pan.

The simpering Echo, keep pushing the agenda, why don't they for once ask? Why have you hired a man that you evidently have no trust in?

It's a chain of command. The bottom line is they keep hiring inept appointees and abandon them, when things go south.

Evertonians have put up with this for decades, while our neighbors despite their tribulations have gone from strength to strength. I don't resent their success, however there is absolutely no reason why our club should be the second club in the city.

It's incompetence and a betrayal pure and simple. Get someone in who knows football and the Board should sit back and enjoy the proposed investment in the dock. Then we'll see a successful Everton.

I get the point, but in fairness, if they're not qualified to appoint a manager they're not qualified to appoint a director of football either are they?

He’s probably in no rush to commit himself to a new challenge having just been sacked from his previous job. IF this is going to happen I expect it won’t be for a while.
