Don't know what to make of this appointment. When was the last time Ancelotti rebuilt a team? One with a squad as poor as ours? He's also 60, won't be in for the long haul.

Are we hoping he can attract bigger name players? Are we going to give him 500mil to spend over the next few years because that's would it'd take to get us competitive?

Really bizarre appointment.

60 is not that old, he could easily go for another 10 years, we have spent 400m the past few years so sure why not, its Brands signing the players anyway so that's the rebuilding side sorted too.

Seriously we have had a succession of young hungry managers and it has got progressive worse. Regardless of if it works out or not if he was interested in the role then its something we had to do. Opportunities like this don't come around every day.

We only need him to have 2 good seasons and win us a pot and attract some decent players.
