Carlo Ancelotti

Moyes remains a strong contender but Ancelotti's excellent CV would excite Everton supporters who have been left disaffected by a rudderless season.

Interim boss Duncan Ferguson would stay on the coaching staff if Ancelotti did take charge

Those fans have been lifted in recent weeks by performances under interim boss Duncan Ferguson, who would remain part of the coaching staff under the new manager.

I fear it’ll be another Koeman situation. Has Ancelotti had to build a team before? Wasn’t he just gifted a pretty much fully formed squad at Chelsea? We need a squad building up properly (with deadwood being culled). I’m not convinced Carlo is the man to do it. More than happy to be proven wrong.
I kind of get the pessimism here but there’s surely more upside than downside with an appointment like this. He’s one of the biggest names in the business with an incredible CV, I think the idea is it’ll put us on the map so to speak.

It will give the club much more exposure, will surely help attract a better calibre of player and may even attract a better level of sponsorship to the club.

If he manages to stabilise the club and get us in and around the top 6 in a season or two before handing the reins to someone else with the club in a much better position, then it will have been a success.

Moise Kean could also benefit massively here too. A father figure type manager and a fellow countryman should be just what he needs here so I wouldn’t give up on him just yet either.
