Carlo Ancelotti

To be fair David Amoyal is one of the best Italian football journalists around. He knows his stuff.

Lets all be honest. Ancelotti isn’t the manager he was. If he was THAT good you’d have the huge clubs all over him.

But for where we are right now, he’s just what we need.
I think he is. He is just managing under different circumstances. The tactics have changed from when he was at his peak, while he also no longer has the same class of player. Napoli are good, but nothing like his Milan or Madrid sides.

Thats what makes me laugh.

If this was Man City or Real Madrid appointing him you can understand those sentiments.
If it was Man City or Real Madrid and it didn't quite work out, they'd finish 2nd or 3rd then spend big to try again.

With Everton if we don't get it right, we potentially get relegated and have to make financial cutbacks and take several years to come back up again.

Was managing Chelsea, Madrid, Bayern and Napoli within the last 10 years, hardly a lifetime ago. Got flat out robbed against Madrid in the 2017 Champions League. Er 2 years ago.

Worked for Martinez first season and a half.
True dat...he did however have an on fire Lukaku, a pretty good Barkley and a £50 million CB...as well as a Barca wunderkind on the wings (not in my opinion mind)
I hope Ancelotti's name alone is enough to get the players fired up....here's genuinely hoping so.

Moyes sitting by his phone like.

We havent got it right in 5 years with managers who have actually gotten relegated like Martinez & Silva.

I think hiring a proven trophy winner wont hurt us too badly...
