Carlo Ancelotti

That tie is really going to have to go.

I see it as more Salmon pink as per some of our historic kits. He already knows... ;)

The chances of finding an up and coming young manager with the capabilities of changing this club are slim.

This really, we can go through the list of up and coming but when they get here it's a risk at the end of the day and we've gone through enough already to know that. Least if Ancelotti doesn't work we can say we tried to mix things up and see if getting the best makes a difference to a mid table side.

I think it's what we should have done from the start, pay someone absolute millions (seeing how much we've spent in compo anyway) and hopefully they will attract the better footballers to the club. Once you have better footballers each managerial appointment is less of a risk.

Didn't he screw the club over by not renewing his contract, not giving any indication he was leaving, and then joining Man United leaving very little time to get a new manager in, and a busted transfer window? Why would we have him back?
He was here for 11 years. The way people still go on is a bit rich. He wasn't even actively looking for a job - Ferguson basically told him he was taking the job.

Funny think is, he warned people that the way is often down after Everton, and he found that out himself!

Even if it goes tits up. We can’t say we didn’t hire the man with the best possible CV available, which essentially, is all you can ask for IMO.

I agree with those who think his guarding of legacy is a plus. If he's not up for it after a bit, he won't stay long enough to do real damage to himself or the club. So worst that happens is that the club gets added credibility to other potential managers for the future. I mean, if Ancelotti, one of the great managers of the age, thought EFC was a ripe project - why shouldn't they?

If this really happens, Carlo Ancelotti will be massive for us. There is a very unpleasant element in our dressing room, a few players think they are bigger than the manager, and, if he asks hard questions of them they stop trying a leg and he gets fired.
Not going to happen with Carlo is it? He commands far too much respect in the game, he will truly be in the driving seat. He won’t accept being left short in the transfer windows either.
