Generally, when expectation is we won't be able to get someone, fans downplay them. (Mourinho, Ancelotti etc)

When expectation is we will get someone, fans overplay them.

In the past whenever we've ran polls with multiple choice managers, there's always momentum towards whoever is favourite to get the job.

I think a lot of the doubts about him are driven by him having not taken on a roll like the one at Everton before, or certainly not since possibly his jobs pre Juventus and that's 20 years ago, so I can kind of see where the shouts about him not being the right man stem from.

With that said, we'd be utterly mental to turn our noses up at a proven winner and if we somehow convinced him to come it'd at least be a sign that someone with half a brain was making decisions. Any new manager is always going to be a risk, but I'd rather take that risk with Ancelotti than David Moyes and the majority of the other names linked.

It doesn't surprise me you'd take a cone layer over a class manager. IIRC you were in favour of either Pereira or David Weir stepping in after Moyes.

Laughable.

The 4 managers I named arent class managers.

And Vitor would have done better than Martinez, cos it was impossible to do any worse.

Martinez did a very decent (more than decent) job in comparison with the utter tripe your Moshiri has brought in. Hles dumbed yu down so much you'd accept a galoot as maanger

It's not either CS or Moyes, or CS or Duncan. The weaknesses of CS are not only pointed out by us here on the forum, but are widely known. Many Arsenal supporters are also very skeptical. It would have been much better if the arguments had been opposed, than to set up false dichotomies and straw men. Either way, CS can no longer choose between top jobs, and it will be interesting to see how his career progresses.

You think we consider it a risk, imagine what he is thinking!

Can anyone tell me who the last manager to beat Liverpool is? Also, who is the last manager to finish a season above Liverpool in the league?

Given their greater resources, I feel this a good yardstick to measure a manager’s performance.

Was that manager employed by Moshiri?

Exactly.

Kinell, just catching up with this thread and I’m struggling to comprehend some of the disturbing views in here. Imagine actually thinking Ancelotti isn’t good enough for Everton ffs.
He's defintely good enough. I would question his motivation though. Getting a big name does not solve all our problems but its a start., He could be actually hungry enough to turn us around of just wants a nice wedge and play golf.
